| Cambodia is an ancient civilization in Southeast Asia.In the nearly 2000 years of history,Funan,Zhenla,Angkor and other dynasties have created splendid Khmer culture.However,there is a lack of documents and materials to record history and culture in Cambodia.Fortunately,Cambodia has taken many images with the development of its film industry,These images,to a large extent,replace the literature and become the carrier of recording and disseminating Cambodia’s history and culture.Based on the significance and special value of these historical images,the image protection institutions represented by the Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center(Abbreviated as Bophana,hereinafter referred to as Bophana Center)and the Documentation Center of Cambodia(Abbreviated as DC-Cam)have been established in Cambodia.They hope to protect and disseminate the historical images of Cambodia,Repair and rebuild the history of Cambodia.Due to the lack of subjectivity of contemporary Cambodian images,the images referred to in the article are video images "shot in Cambodia",including films,documentaries,short films and short videos.As a former colonial country,after the establishment of an independent and sovereign country,Cambodia’s cultural development also has an obvious post-colonial color.In this article,this is reflected in the daily operation of the two institutions,as well as the digital protection and dissemination of historical images,in which the Western government and private institutions have intervened by providing funds and other means,resulting in the two institutions becoming Western agents to a certain extent,It has become an intermediary for Western cultural colonization.Through the analysis of the images it spreads,it is found that Cambodia has a serious lack of subjectivity.Many images contain postcolonial ideology and western ideology.These images have the characteristics of creating a negative image of Cambodia.Some of the images on the subject of Cambodia hope to achieve the purpose of speaking and treating trauma,but in the post-colonial context,the role and effect need to be discussed.In today’s increasingly fierce competition and ideological struggle in the cultural field,the phenomenon that the West uses non-governmental organizations and institutions to carry out cultural infiltration and cultural aggression against the third world countries deserves attention and attention.This paper consists of five chapters and six parts of the final conclusion:The first chapter is the introduction of the whole paper,including the research background,research significance,literature review,research theory and research methods.The second chapter combs the development process of Cambodia’s historical image,from the Cambodian image in the embryonic period to the contemporary Cambodian image,describes the Cambodian historical image in four stages,and analyzes the four social functions of the Cambodian historical image after basic carding.The third chapter introduces the Bophana Center and the Cambodian Documentation Center from three aspects,namely,the introduction of the person in charge,the development process,the function and the goal,and expounds the fact that they have received funding from the United States,France and other western institutions and organizations due to the lack of funds in the development process and in the process of achieving the function and goal,which makes the operation of the institutions depend on these organizations and institutions and lose their independence and autonomy.The fourth chapter analyzes the measures taken by the Bophana Center and the Cambodian Document Center to digitize and protect the historical images of Cambodia,including the digital technology restoration of historical images,the database construction of historical images,and the digital dissemination of historical images.In this process,The two institutions are also supported by the West to varying degrees.The fifth chapter,through the research on the quantitative and qualitative combination of the content of the Bophana Center and the Cambodian Document Center on the two international network communication platforms of Facebook and You Tube,the quantitative research and analysis of the historical images of Cambodia that the two institutions have spread on the two digital communication platforms,and the communication effect they have achieved,and the qualitative research and analysis of the postcolonial ideas embodied in these images,at the same time,Under the background of post-colonialism,the trauma expression of the images on the theme of the People’s Republic of Cambodia reflects the characteristics of catering to the western aesthetic to a certain extent,and the role and effect of treatment are weak.In conclusion,the Bophana Center and the Cambodian Document Center,in line with the trend of the development of the times,have carried out digital protection and dissemination of Cambodia’s historical images and other materials,and to some extent repaired and improved Cambodia’s deficiencies in the preservation and dissemination of history and culture.However,the cultural colonization intention of the western countries has cast a lingering shadow of post-colonialism.With the support of the western countries,the two institutions have lost their independence and become the spokesmen of western ideology.It is a vivid example of the cultural infiltration of the West into the third world countries in the current post-colonial international environment.We should be vigilant against this phenomenon. |
