Since the 21 st century,Intercultural Communication has achieved objective results relying on official organizations and propaganda of film and television works.With the idea of building "a community of shared future for mankind" and the arrival of the short video era,the Intercultural Communication should create new development ideas.Intercultural Communication with private individuals as the main body can not only express various aspects of our culture through life forms,but also enable overseas audiences to ignore the ideological problems in the process of official channel communication and accept it easily.“Dizi Angkor Wat Diary” has accumulated a fan base of nearly 4 million since it started publishing works on Douyin in 2020.The works displayed on the account are mainly about Dizi’s daily life in Cambodia,because the sharing of daily life involves a lot of similarities and conflicts between Chinese and Cambodian cultures.She has become a short video expert with the best communication effect among short video producers of overseas Chinese groups.From the theoretical perspective of cross-cultural communication,this study uses case analysis and text analysis to take 387 short videos presented in the account of "Dizi Angkor Wat Diary" as research samples,and analyzes the cross-cultural communication phenomenon presented in the account to explore whether overseas Chinese can carry out cross-cultural communication through short video platform as individuals.Whether the cross-cultural communication methods with private individuals as the main communication methods are worth promoting,and what is the enlightenment of such methods in the development of cross-cultural communication work in our short video platforms.This study is divided into five chapters and the conclusion of two parts.The five chapters are as follows: The first chapter is the introduction,which sorts out the research background,research significance and value,research methods,research review and research innovation,and proposes that "with the rapid development of media,The perspective of cross-cultural communication in our country should transfer from official channel to private individuals " the preliminary assumption that " the expression of social gender has direct relation with the communication effect of cross-cultural communication on short video platforms ";Chapter two introduces the typical case of "Dizi Angkor Wat Diary" account,and concludes that "Dizi Angkor Wat Diary",as a case study of cross-cultural communication by private individuals,has certain reliability and validity support through comparative analysis of relevant data and similar accounts.The third chapter selects nearly 400 works of "Dizi Angkor Wat Diary" account into four categories of food,festival etiquette and customs,living habits and value transmission from different macro and micro perspectives,interprets the cultural connotation of the works through text analysis,and uses the official data analysis platform of Douyin to present relevant data.This paper briefly discusses whether the communication effect of "Dizi Angkor Wat Diary" can really promote the cross-cultural communication between China and Cambodia,and analyzes the most direct communication effect produced by this account based on the theory of full information emotion.The fourth chapter categorizes the above communication phenomena and analyzes the causes of cross-cultural phenomena from three parts: the cultural origin of the two countries,the relationship between the transmission and receiving parties,and the innovation of the platform form.The deficiencies revealed in the research process also become the reasons why the account did not become a phenomenon account.The fifth chapter,based on the conclusions drawn in Chapter 3and Chapter 4,puts forward targeted suggestions for the cross-cultural communication work in Chinese short video platforms from four aspects: platform policy,content setting,messenger consciousness,creative mentality and purpose.Through the detailed analysis of the Intercultural Communication phenomenon presented by the research objects,this study concluded that under the premise of national policies and platform support,overseas Chinese should enhance the awareness of Intercultural Communication and exchange,maintain a positive creative mentality,respect the principle of content is king,and promote the development of Chinese Intercultural Communication with the power of private individuals.
