| Since 2018,under the impetus of media convergence strategy,the construction of county-level converged media has stepped from "building strong" to "using good" period.As an academic response to the practice of county-level converged media construction and the reform and transformation of grassroots media in China,many results of county-level converged media research have emerged.However,most of the existing research is macroscopically depicted and microscopically analyzed,but the "people" engaged in county-level converged media work are few.As China’s grassroots media,the dilemma of team building is particularly prominent for county-level converged media,this has much to do with the emotional changes and mentality dilemmas of the practitioners under social transformation,and the academia must begin to shift the research content from "industry" to "mentality".Emotions are an important part of the mindset,affecting people’s daily practices,and a key resource to be regulated in organizational management.Based on theories of emotional practices and emotional labor,this study selects four centers of County-level converged media in Jiangxi Province as field observation sites,using field surveys,in-depth interviews,participant observation,and other qualitative research methods to empirically study the emotional practices of county-level converged media practitioners as research objects,which is a study of "going into the place" "getting close to the heart" and "exchanging hearts for hearts".The core questions of this study focus on the empirical representation and logical mechanism of practitioners’ emotional practices on the one hand,and the content and context of emotional labor throughout the journalistic work on the other.The study finds that county-level converged media practitioners have rich personal emotional practices implicit in their career choices,center of County-level converged media job,and media works.Behind the career choice is the initial pursuit of a sense of belonging to one’s hometown and a sense of job security,as well as the imagination of a fresh and honorable professional picture;the emotional practices of practitioners in the newsroom show a "mixed" emotional structure,including the sense of work accomplishment reinforced by the visual communication index,the sense of responsibility for media convergence construction,the professional mission to respond to The news work is also an important carrier of the practitioners’ emotional practices,in which the collective positive emotions and the love and pride of the local culture are fully expressed.Emotions,in the form of practical purposes and motivations,affect the cognitive attitudes of practitioners’ career planning to vary degrees,and influence career choices through emotional mobilization,as well as serve as a tool and target of news narratives,and become a "medium of mediums" connecting audiences.Among the various types of vivid emotional practices,group emotional characteristics such as a strong sense of territorial belonging,a weak sense of professional identity recognition,a strong sense of professional quality panic,and a weak sense of convergence construction direction have emerged.At the same time,behind the scenes of practitioners’ careers lies a long-standing but long-neglected emotional practice-emotional labor,which includes both passive emotional modification behaviors such as masking and hiding one’s true emotions and enhancing untrue sensory experiences,as well as active adjustment behaviors internalized in the professional mission of self-emotion.The key to media development is talent.The value of the subjectivity of practitioners should be further exploited in the future,not only to continuously optimize the performance evaluation system and strengthen professional skills guidance in the future but also to form a long-term mechanism for mind settling and emotional relief,achieving China media integration up and down the business of integration. |
