In recent years, short video platforms have been reaching and accommodating a wider user base.Through sharing and integrating the spatial and temporal dimensions, they have opened up a media practice space with diverse scene interactions, coexistence of multiple codes, and resonance among multiple communities.Traditional discourse practices, social relationships, and visual culture have been diffusely expanded and migrated within short video platforms.Obviously, compared to traditional media platforms, short video platforms have increased their unparalleled charm index by lowering entry barriers and providing users with commercial value, social value, and cultural dissemination value, making them a popular destination for the public. However, the rapid development of short video platforms is also full of uncertainty and needs to be viewed dialectically. We should not only make good use of its platform value and acknowledge its positive impact, but also use risk control thinking to be vigilant about the platform’s regulation and guidance of media behavior for users,to avoid users becoming "one-way people" who are regulated, and to promote users to maintain a clear sense of subjectivity in the process of using, expressing, producing, and consuming short video platforms. As the largest accumulation field of short videos, short video platforms construct a unique production matrix under the control of their own rules, reconstructing the production mode of audio-visual content, while also exposing the dilemma of production instability and quality efficiency contradiction. Therefore, guiding users to take action and cooperate according to platform rules and development needs through regulatory training has become a necessary strategy for commercial value-added and stable platform development. This study takes the production status and dissemination mechanism of short video platforms as the starting point, focusing on the platform’s algorithm cognition, privacy cognition, and production training paths for users, and reflecting on the social impact brought by the platform in the training process for users. From the perspective of training users in algorithmic cognition, the platform, with the advantages of technology and rule control, guides users to form a consensus on algorithmic value in the behavior of media use and rule verification.By rematching users’ social relationships and establishing a network hierarchy system, users are allowed to make default and agree behaviors that cater to the logic of the algorithm. In the process of privacy awareness training, the platform sets the default consent rights, and competes with users’ informed consent rights to reduce the visibility of privacy policies, narrow the scope of instructions for privacy information collection and processing, weaken users’ privacy awareness sensitivity, and gradually make users show a psychological state of privacy flow and insensibility and privacy cynicism behavior. From the perspective of production training, the training methods of platforms can be divided into explicit and implicit ones.Explicit training usually focuses on direct media sample demonstration and the establishment of reward and punishment mechanisms for production control, while implicit training is mainly achieved through indirect experience of others to persuade and form a joint production mobilization of interests. This study conducted an empirical in-depth examination of the production status and dissemination mechanism of short video platforms, and sorted out practical issues such as how the platform utilizes rule embedding and supply advantages to guide, intervene, and train users in cognitive and production practices. It also focused on the impact of platform training, with the aim of attracting government regulatory authorities to optimize and refine the management of short video platform supervision, warning platform users should maintain their own sobriety, improve media literacy, and jointly create a sustainable media platform. |
