Discourse Analysis Of "Voice Of China" Special Report On National Day

As the leading channel of China’s broadcasting media,the Voice of China(VOC)is a very important news propaganda medium since the founding of New China,and the study of its discourse on the achievements of the founding of the country during the National Day is more typical and brings important inspiration for the organization and planning of future major theme reports.Looking at the grand scale and elaborate design of the publicity coverage of the National Day by China Central Radio and Television(CRTV)over the years,this paper selects the "Voice of China" special reports in 1989,1999,2009 and 2019,taking into account the National Day ceremony system established by the State Council.Through case studies and discourse analysis,and by further combining the editorial process and communication characteristics of the broadcast media,the 85 reports are analyzed at three levels: microtext,discourse practice,and social practice,and are described and studied in terms of discourse structure,vocabulary and rhetoric,and sound usage.The process and similarities and characteristics of the organizational reports are summarized.Through the above research,we found that the National Day reports of "Voice of China" over the years showed common patterns in terms of topics and sound,while the perspective and length of the reports showed different characteristics.The advent of the Internet era has enriched the listening channels and interactive participation methods of broadcasting and accelerated the emergence of its fragmentation characteristics,while the sinking perspective and rich details are a new expression derived from the gradual development in the new era.Political and economic,cultural and technological social factors all have different degrees of influence on the organization and content of reports,while reports with the characteristics of the times also lead the evolution of the popular discourse of the whole society.Broadcast media should further integrate the reporting structure in future achievement reports and strive to find a balance between macro and micro perspectives in reporting.They should also continue to adhere to the professionalism of journalism and do a good job of combining "precision" and "depth",while actively exploring the new media coverage and interactive mode in the network society and adapting to the audience’s fragmented news acquisition needs in order to achieve better communication effects.
