With the increasing number of new services in access networks, traditional access network management systems have become somewhat rigid and cannot flexibly adjust management strategies according to demands. Moreover, the device management approach dominated by equipment vendors has resulted in slow and complex network upgrades. The emergence of Software Defined Networking(SDN)technology provides a new approach and method for access network management. The openness and programmability of SDN technology can provide management platforms with greater scalability and flexibility to meet business requirements. Therefore, developing an SDN-based unified control system for optical access network devices and constructing a unified management platform to achieve centralized and intelligent network control is of great value. This thesis researches how to construct an SDN-based unified control system for optical access network devices, aiming to address the various problems existing in the current optical access network management systems. The objective is to achieve unified control over optical access network devices by focusing on device configuration management, alarm management, and performance monitoring. In terms of architecture, this thesis applies the concept of microservices to the field of optical access networks, splitting the overall control system into several independent services to improve system maintainability, scalability, and extensibility.Starting with SDN southbound interface-related protocols, this thesis designs and implements southbound configuration interfaces and alarm monitoring interfaces to achieve the goal of unified control over optical network devices. In terms of configuration management,a configuration data synchronization scheme based on the two-phase commit protocol is proposed to address the data synchronization issue in PON device network management layer.Additionally,a configuration distribution scheme based on XPATH is designed. For alarm management,a flexible and customizable alarm processing and notification system is designed based on open-source Alertmanager. This system can meet the alarm processing requirements in device monitoring, providing accurate, efficient, and timely alarm notifications. Finally,in terms of performance monitoring, this thesis analyzes the issues of high latency and low throughput in traditional performance monitoring modes and proposes a flow-based performance monitoring solution to address the inefficiency of real-time data processing in performance monitoring. The developed control system validates the feasibility of applying SDN concepts to the field of optical access network management, providing methods and ideas for constructing a unified PON device management platform.Through relevant functional testing, the system built in this thesis can reliably distribute PON device configurations, manage alarms, and monitor performance. The management system also performs well in performance testing in terms of throughput and latency.
