Analysis Of Yang Gang's Newsletters

Yang Gang,an outstanding journalist during the Republic of China,held an important status in the journalism of our country.She was called the "Four Famous Artists" of the Chinese press together with Peng Zigang,Pu Xixiu and Ge Yang.Yang Gang,Peng Zidan and Pu Xixiu were called the press "Three Swordsmen" during the Republic of China.During Yang Gang's journalism career,she became famous for herself by writing war reports and American reports.In this paper,with Yang Gang's representative war reports and American reports from 1942 to1949 as the research object,it analyzes the text content of her 93 newsletters,studies the situation of war zone during the War of Resistance Against Japan and the real situation of the United States after World War II as demonstrated by Yang Gang's newsletters.From the aspects of report content,expression means,structure and layout and narrative perspective,Yang Gang's newsletters are featured by rich theme,deep content,good at literary writing;ingenious structure and layout;individualized narrative perspective;sufficient humanistic care.And it analyzes the main reasons for the formation of her characteristics combined with the background of the times and personal experience.The reasons for the formation of her characteristics lie in better literary cultivation,her historical background,tenacious personality,an advantage platform provided by Ta Kung Pao as well as the emotion of “family-country” and mass views and other aspects.It carries out a macro and systematic framework from three main dimensions,the analysis of the content of Yang Gang's newsletter,the characteristics of the newsletter and the reasons for the formation of the characteristics,which makes the research on Yang Gang's newsletters have a clear thread and overall grasp,on the one hand,enriching the historical data,on the other hand,exploring her newsletters should be worthy of learning and reference of contemporary journalists.
