| With the economic development of our country,the urban rate is continuously increasing,and the competition between cities is increasingly intensifying.As the youngest municipality directly under the Central Government,with the in-depth implementation of major strategies,such as the Western Development,the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road",Chongqing has ushered in changes with each passing day.As a promotional film for a city,Chongqing’s urban image is related to the improvement of its competitiveness and soft power,as well as its long-term development.The construction of urban image cannot be separated from media.Currently,research on Chongqing’s urban image mainly focuses on new media platforms,gradually lacking the attention paid to the construction of Chongqing’s urban image by traditional media.While new media brings new opportunities,there are also significant issues such as serious fragmentation of the city’s image,lack of depth in content,excessive commercial flavor,serious homogenization,and excessive entertainment.By studying the situation and changing process of traditional mainstream media in the construction of Chongqing’s urban image since the establishment of the municipality directly under the Central Government,this thesis analyzes the reconstruction of Chongqing’s urban image and the problems encountered in the reconstruction process,and proposes reconstruction strategies.This has important reference significance for both traditional and new media in the future in the construction of Chongqing’s urban image.This article mainly takes the reports on Chongqing in People’s Daily from 1997 to2022 as the research object,selects samples using the structured weekly sampling method,and analyzes the samples using content analysis and text analysis methods.It mainly discusses four issues:(1)What are the main characteristics of Chongqing’s urban image in People’s Daily?(2)"People’s Daily" in Chongqing’s urban image change process?(3)What are the problems in the reconstruction of Chongqing’s urban image in People’s Daily?(4)What are the strategies for reconstructing Chongqing’s urban image in the future?Through data,it is found that Chongqing’s urban image has undergone three stages of change and development,with the political and economic image being the most prominent in these three stages."People’s Daily" as a whole has constructed a rapidly developing and positive urban image of Chongqing.The image of the three stages has been reconstructed,but its essence has not changed.The overall process is continuous development and refinement,with a clear development imprint of the times.However,there are also problems in the process of reconstruction,such as incomplete reporting themes and lack of exploration of cultural resources;Old reporting forms and low quality;Based on the weak image of citizens,this thesis proposes reconstruction strategies from the macro,medium,and micro levels to comprehensively build a good urban image of Chongqing.From a macro perspective,it is proposed to establish a scientific,long-term,and sustainable communication plan by accurately positioning the city and following the laws of communication.At the medium level,it mainly focuses on developing diverse communication subjects and transitioning discourse power to the people;Utilizing the "presence effect" and daily content narrative to create a sense of identity among the public towards the modern Chongqing space;Expanding channels for audience interaction and changing the imbalanced pattern of public opinion;Innovate communication forms and cultivate high-quality seeds of "hardcore news";Improve cultural soft power and create a new business card for Chongqing.At the micro level,the dissemination of urban image should pay attention to the effectiveness of word-of-mouth generated by local residents and city visitors. |
