Today,the rapid development of economic globalization,the competition between the international community is no longer limited to the national level of the competition,but has extended to the competition among cities.With the increasing number of urban population and the increasing demand for urban development,the competition among cities has also been expanded from the initial infrastructure construction and economic strength to the whole city image.Since 1980 s,the process of urbanization in China has been accelerating with the acceleration of reform and opening up.City image,as a comprehensive reflection of the state of urban development,has become an indispensable intangible asset in the development of the city,and participates in and affects the competition between cities.Chongqing,as both the multiple attributes of People's Republic of China municipality directly under the central government,the National Center City,connecting point of international metropolis and the "The Belt and Road" strategy and the Chinese inland open city,with the rapid development in recent years,won the unanimous recognition and attention at home and abroad.From the perspective of internationalization,how can Chinese media and foreign media express and describe Chongqing through news reports? What is the image of Chongqing in China's media coverage? Related academic studies have not yet emerged.Due to the limitation of time and space,it is difficult for people to stay in the real situation and feel the real and specific feelings and cognition of the city."Media is the extension of people",the mass media at this time plays an important bridge in the construction of city image,and to a certain extent,influence the concrete evaluation and real cognition of the Chongqing city image.Therefore,the study of mass media's shaping and spreading of Chongqing's urban image has become a problem that needs to be considered and studied in the international construction and dissemination of Chongqing's image.This paper adopts the relevant definition of Zang Guoren's framework theory and the method of combining qualitative framework analysis with quantitative analysis of content analysis.This paper takes the news reports of Chongqing as samples in the people's daily(Overseas Edition)and the New York Times in the last ten years(2007-2016).On the basis of extracting the framework for the construction of the city image of Chongqing in the two newspapers,this paper makes a framework analysis and summary of the Chongqing city image constructed by the two newspapers,in order to have reference value and reference value for the international construction and dissemination of Chongqing city image in the future.The study found that the city image construction of the people's daily(Overseas Edition)is a "flourishing modern international metropolis".The reason lies in the prosperity of China and the attention to the development of Chongqing,and the display of Chongqing's "vigorous development under the leadership of the state",and the construction of the New York Times by the New York Times.Qing is a "fog capital" that participates in international exchanges.Its report highlights the question of the state driven development model of Chongqing,and emphasizes the negative news in the process of Chongqing's development,and portrays the "image of the blurry vision of the city" in Chongqing.
