Media Construction Of Jinan City Image In People's Daily(2017-2019)

With the development of globalization and urbanization,the competition among cities is becoming more and more intense,and the city image,as an important part of the city competitiveness,is getting more and more attention.The shaping of a good city image not only needs the efforts of the city itself,but also media reports to a certain extent construct and influence the city image in the public mind.Therefore,the study of media on the city image of the media construction,for the city image of good development has a certain reference.Jinan used to be a well-deserved calling card for Shandong,but in recent years,Qingdao has rapidly risen and developed,showing the whole country a modern city full of vitality,fashion and charm,Jinan's urban image is undoubtedly dimmed in the face of Qingdao's rapid popularity.To find out why,this study used 973 news reports related to Jinan from January 1,2017,to December 31,2019 in the Content analysis as a sample,based on the statistics and analysis of 292 samples concerning Jinan City image,this paper draws a conclusion that the media presentation of Jinan City image is supplemented by the horizontal comparison with the construction of Qingdao city image,put forward People's Daily in about Jinan city image media construction process question and suggestion.Of the 292 reports on Jinan's urban image,the analysis shows that the report on the image of the people's livelihood accounts for the largest proportion,accounting for 33.9% of the total,followed by the report on the political image,the proportion is 29.5%;in terms of sources,the newspaper's journalists occupy a leading position;in terms of reporting genre,the communications report is in the majority;in terms of reporting tendency,positive reports and neutral reports are in the majority;in terms of reporting length,the number of short and medium-length reports is the largest;in terms of reporting form,there were 209 written reports,accounting for 72.1 percent of the total.In terms of reporting features,the People's Daily reports are closely related to reality and have an objective and neutral attitude,which is of certain reference significance,with the social people's livelihood image and the political image report related topic primarily,has manifested Jinan provincial capital city's characteristic.To sum up,People's Daily presents Jinan city image in politics,economy,culture,science and technology innovation,social people's livelihood,ecological environment six aspects have distinct characteristics.Although the city image of Jinan created by the People's Daily has been relatively objective and comprehensive,through a comparative study with Qingdao,it is clear that there are problems such as weakening of supervision by public opinion and uneven setting of issues,in order to promote the construction and dissemination of Jinan City image,this paper puts forward some solutions,such as digging up issues,strengthening supervision by public opinion and integrating resources.
