| Without communication, communities do not exist, and of course, without communities, communication cannot take place. If communication is lost, the community is just an empty shell for living and gathering, and the meaning of communication of the community is lost. This study takes Minning Town as a reconstructed space and explores the development process of spatial production in Minning Town and the role played by the media in the development of institutional, physical and social spaces respectively. The research uses a combination of fieldwork,in-depth interviews and textual analysis to collect data and textual information on the spatial production of Minning Town through two channels: fieldwork, observation and textual analysis.Chapter 1 introduces the background, significance and methodology of Minning Town;Chapter 2 provides a brief overview of domestic and international research on spatial production and a brief overview of research on space and communication media and space and community communication;Chapter 3 introduces the relevant conceptual theories and data selection for the thesis;Chapter 4 discusses the institutional spatial construction of Minning Town, mainly from the perspective of Chapter 5 is an exploration of the role of media in the production of physical space in Minning Town from the perspective of the physical space of Minning Town;Chapter 6is an exploration of the construction of community communication in Minning Town from the perspective of social space and people’s experience of real life.According to the author’s observation and personal experience over a period of more than two months, the construction of Minning Town is a product of policy-oriented spatial practice, built for poverty alleviation and born for poverty alleviation. It is the spatial production of a combination of national top-level design and grassroots institutional management,a policy fruit of the east-west collaboration between Minning and Ningxia. The production of its physical space is the spatial construction of power consciousness and the expression of the ideas of the construction planners, and its social space is the ideological discipline of grassroots management for the migrants in the community, the result of a two-way driving force of spatial practice that combines the driving expectations of external forces such as government and media gaze and the daily practices within the migrant subjects. It can be said that the spatial generation of Minning Town is the unification of the three spatially driven by the institutional space of the east-west collaboration between Minning and Ningxia under the leadership of the national policy into the physical and social space of the real life of Minning Town. The spatial production of Minning Town is the result of the unification of the three spatialities, and the role of the media as the glue that holds them together. |
