The Concepts,Types And Practices Of Museum Exhibition Evaluation

Museum evaluation begins the evaluation of public projects in the West and its the product of public education.As an informal educational institution,The museum extends the activity space of school education,It is a place with public welfare,research function and educational mission.Therefore,It is essential that institutions,exhibitions,projects and audience evaluation be conducted in museums to verify the effectiveness of museums in providing the public with scientific and cultural heritage and knowledge.the museum exhibition plays an important role in the museum,but the domestic museum circles have never paid due attention to the museum exhibition evaluation,and there are few discussions about the three types of exhibition evaluation,the practice of museum exhibition evaluation mainly focuses on summative evaluation,and there are few front-end evaluation and formative evaluation.Based on this,this paper begins with the evaluation,focus on the three types and three cases of museum exhibition evaluation,taking the concept and methods of museum exhibition evaluation as the topic,this paper mainly discusses what is museum exhibition evaluation,how to carry out museum exhibition evaluation,and what methods of museum evaluation can be used for reference in the international museum field.therefore,this thesis focuses on three types of evaluation and three cases,the museum evaluation of the theoretical and practical aspects of analysis.Under this research mentality,this article launches from the following three aspects:Firstly,the concept of research,especially the basic connotation of museum evaluation and museum exhibition evaluation,The contents include what is the evaluation,what is the museum evaluation,the process of museum exhibition evaluation,etc.evaluation can be understood as a valuable judgment,and museum evaluation is a quantitative evaluation and evaluation of the elements of exhibition,educational activities,scientific research,operation and management in museum,museum exhibition evaluation is an evaluation of a specific exhibition in a museum.The evaluation is carried out mainly from the three stages of the exhibition design,and mainly evaluates the theme of the exhibition and the response of the audience.The evaluation methods include questionnaire survey,behavior observation,interview and focus group qualitative evaluation.Secondly,it mainly discusses the three types of museum assessment,which are divided into three types:front-end evaluation,formative evaluation,summative evaluation.this chapter focuses on what the evaluation at each stage addresses and how such an evaluation can be carried out.The front-end evaluation can be used to determine the theme of the exhibition and the choice of the target audience.The formative evaluation can find the early problems,but it is difficult to revise considering the funds.Thirdly,three museums were selected for analysis.Exhibition evaluation to Harvard Museum of Natural History is a complete case study of the exhibition,which is evaluated in front-end evaluation,formative evaluation and summative evaluation.the result proves that the exhibition is a successful exhibition.The exhibition evaluation of NSF project in the United States is based on the framework,and its evaluation process is standard and complete,which is a typical model of museum project exhibition evaluation.The Australian Museum focuses on recording the process of learning behavior,evaluating the learning of the audience,and comparing the three evaluation methods by experiment,so as to select the evaluation method to use in the evaluation.Museum evaluation is not only an important research topic in the museum field,but also a practical work in the museum field.Through this study,we can not only comb the concept of museum evaluation comprehensively,but also provide useful reference for the development of Chinese museum evaluation Through case study of foreign museum evaluation.
