Education is one of the vital functions of a museum,which makes it necessary to consider and evaluate the pros and cons of the effectiveness of museum education activities.Museum education could be dissimilar with traditional forms,with a broad range of content and various forms of implementation,as well as a more complex context than school teaching.In the perspective of evaluation,the distinctions in the types of educational activities should be well thought out to ensure the precision and scientificity of the process.Taking the outlined case above as the instance,with the methods of document analysis,data collection,investigation and return visits,this paper will demonstrate the actual operability of the division of the museum's educational evaluation through the interpretation of the mentioned case.Eventually,establish the "Evaluation Chain" based on selection,weighting upon education evaluation standards,so long as putting forward my assumption and proposals.The first chapter defines the scope of museum education evaluation as the beginning,following by combing the research status quo of the issue at home and abroad.As a final point,it will explain the research purpose and significance.The second chapter expounds the construction of the evaluation system via four aspects: process,content and type,standards,and methods.According to the characteristics of museum education activities,theevaluation is divided into participatory projects,interactive projects,progressive projects,library-school cooperation projects,and policy-based evaluations.With regard to evaluation standards,a parallel education evaluation system of qualitative evaluation and quantitative evaluation was established,together with seven first-level indicators as reference for education evaluation standards.In view of the evaluation of cooperation and sharing between museums,this article proposes the idea of ??"inter-library cooperation chain evaluation".There are three branches,including inter-library activities "cross evaluation chain","vertical evaluation chain",and "cluster supervision”,which classify the evaluation process of museum education projects between libraries and the way of data sharing.The third chapter takes the practice of evaluating the educational activities of the Shanxi Museum as an example,that focuses on seven activity cases such as "Metal and Stone Tuong Van","Little Docent",and "Time Spaceship" to explain the implementation process,evaluation method,and the pros and cons of evaluation emphasis.Analyze the successful experience in the evaluation practice and the reasons for the evaluation invalidity,and demonstrate the concrete feasibility of the division of evaluation types.Meanwhile,follow a line of investigation on the staff's professional proficiency,project execution,and group participation evaluation.The fourth chapter puts forward the common problems existing in the practice of education evaluation of Shanxi Museum at the outset,then thecorresponding countermeasures and suggestions.In the second place,it sets forth outlooks and details towards the practical complications of museum education evaluation,and discusses again the proportion of empirical and humanistic evaluation.At the same time,it also expresses recommendations on the aesthetic design,special population evaluation and evaluation ethics involved in museum education evaluation.
