| Along with the increasing of the scale and complexity of Integrated Circuits,the functional verification of Integrated Circuits becomes more and more diffcult.The design quality of Integrated Circuits directly affects the complexity and process of verification.Based on the design and verification of the flow control module in a MAC coprocessor,the key technologies of digital IC chip design process from system design to simulation verification are discussed in the thesis.Firstly,the design and verification guidelines of digital IC are briefly introduced.And the process of the simulation based on functional verification and the component elements of verification platform are emphasized.Secondly,based on the project undertaken in our laboratory-"Research and Chip Design of a New Generation of Broadband Access Technology over Coax(HINOC MAC coprocessor)",the design requirement and scheme of MAC coprocessor are briefly introduced,while the design of its flow control module has been studied mainly.Finally,according to the guidelines of simulation,the verification platform for MAC coprocessor has been built.The functional verification of the flow control which is showed as an example for verification is introduced on this platformin in detail.Because the flow control function only can be achieved on the basis that the MAC coprocessor is able to recieve and send frames and its registers and memories can be write and read properly,registers and memory of MAC coprocessor,so these functions are checked before the verification. |
