In recent years,with the promulgation of policies and regulations related to "convergence between kindergarten and primary school ",the popularity has increased rather than decreased.The effectiveness of the "convergence between kindergarten and primary school " not only has a direct impact on the quality of children’s physical and psychological development,but also on their future learning attitudes and behaviour when they enter the teaching system.In foreign countries,through the active collaboration of the relevant departments,a more comprehensive system has been established for early childhood and primary school linkage.In China,more and more scholars are paying attention to the issue of "convergence between kindergarten and primary school ",and the study of the current situation of "convergence between kindergarten and primary school " is essential to promote the improvement of China’s education system,ensure the healthy development of children’s body and mind,and give children a relaxed and comfortable growth environment.This study mainly uses literature research,questionnaire survey and interview method,taking kindergartens,primary schools,families and society as the perspective of the "early childhood-primary transition",based on the existing research status at home and abroad,to conduct a questionnaire survey on some kindergarten teachers,primary school teachers,kindergarten parents and primary school parents in Guangdong Province,to investigate the children’s The study also analyses and draws on existing research findings on "convergence between kindergarten and primary school " at home and abroad,with the aim of understanding the current situation of "convergence between kindergarten and primary school" education and making some suggestions.The study is divided into four parts.The first part is about the background and origin of this study,the theoretical and practical significance of the study,the definition of concepts through reading the literature on convergence between kindergarten and primary school at home and abroad,the clarification of research ideas and research methods.The second part of the study analyses the questionnaires completed by teachers and parents,and provides a further understanding of the four main dimensions of the study: knowledge of the convergence between kindergarten and primary school;how the convergence between kindergarten and primary school works and what it prepares for;problems and factors influencing the convergence between kindergarten and primary school;and difficulties encountered by parents in the convergence between kindergarten and primary school and the help they need.The analysis of the results of the interviews is also used to present the current situation of the convergence between kindergarten and primary school.The third section discusses the problems presented by the four dimensions and analyses the causes of these problems in relation to the results of the questionnaire and interviews.The fourth part is to put forward some feasible suggestions in response to the conclusions discussed in the third part: actively implementing the primary-child interface;home-school co-education;improving the teacher training system;and establishing a systematic early childhood-primary interface programme.Finally,the conclusions and shortcomings of this study are discussed,and the problems and shortcomings that emerged from this current research study are analysed rationally,so as to lay a good foundation for future research.
