| As the Ministry of Education explicitly stipulates in “New Curriculum Standards for Ideological and Political Course in Regular Senior High Schools(2017 Edition,2020 Revision)”(hereinafter referred to as the “New Curriculum Standards”),ideology and political courses in regular senior high schools shall cultivate students’ core accomplishment in ideology and politics.It is feasible to fulfill the goal of cultivating the core accomplishment in ideology and politics by constructing activitybased courses.As an effective approach,topic-based teaching caters for new requirements of the times and educational reforms,has great values in research and practice,becomes a highlight in the teaching reform of ideological and political education in senior high schools and receives widespread attention.However,limitations and problems of topic-based teaching in practices are worth taking seriously.This is precisely the basis for this thesis.On the basis of extensive and thorough reading of relevant literatures as well as my observation and thinking in education practices,I use some research methods and adopt a new perspective to concentrate on studying the application of topic-based teaching in senior high school ideological and political courses.Except introduction and the conclusion parts,this thesis has five parts.The first part is the logic origin for this thesis.In this part,the application of topic-based teaching in senior high school ideological and political courses is based to introduce relevant theories.This part starts from the definition of topic-based teaching,to discuss its characteristics,analyze its supporting theories and expound its values in teaching practices.In the second part,problems existing in three stages of topic-based teaching are analyzed.Before class,problems exist in three aspects: teachers’ enthusiasm for applying topic-based teaching,teaching design and students’ beforeclass preparation.In class,there is still room to improve teacher’s overall control over the classroom and stimulate students’ further involvement in topic-based teaching.After class,efforts should be invested to further strengthen teachers’ control of the evaluation system and students’ self-evaluation ability.Thus it can be seen that both teachers and students should make further improvements in all the three stages of topic-based teaching.In the third part,causes of the above-mentioned problems are dissected from two standpoints: teachers and students.Teachers should upgrade their concepts,cultivate good habits and enhance their personal abilities,while students’ poor learning habits,learning awareness,knowledge reserves,topic-based learning abilities and attitudes prevent the efficient application of topic-based teaching.Worse still,as the main place of teaching,schools also have problems,as they should make further improvements and optimizations in the hardware and software condition,the training system and the teaching schedule.The fourth part continues to discuss specific improvements required to eliminate the problems of topic-based teaching to achieve its efficient application in practice.Teachers should positively convert their ideas,enhance their application ability and perfect the evaluation mechanism and standards,and students should actively take the initiative to transform their thinking,stimulate passion,cultivate habits and strengthen personal abilities.Beyond that,schools should go further to perfect their systems to achieve the efficient application of topic-based teaching.Only when a teaching method is put into practice,can it produce practical results.So in the last part,teaching design is made for a specific lesson,to provide reference for the practical application of topic-based teaching. |
