China’s basic education curriculum reform is in an all-round stage,which clearly points to the goal of building morality and cultivating people.Senior high school ideological and political curriculum reform has established positive teaching objectives,trying to cultivate students’ core literacy,and building activity-based discipline curriculum in practice.Topic based teaching requires teaching to start from practice,enable students to realize the profound connotation of theory through thinking,and gradually form their own values.It is a powerful means to complete the curriculum reform.Therefore,the research of topic based teaching in high school ideological and political course has its unique value,which is a subject that every high school ideological and political teacher must study seriously.Based on the understanding of the connotation of topic and topic based teaching,this paper summarizes the characteristics of topic based teaching by comparing with other teaching methods,and expounds the implementation procedure of topic based teaching in senior high school ideological and political course from the three levels of "what,why and how".During the internship in L senior high school in T City,through questionnaires interviews and classroom observation,the author analyzes the survey results from four dimensions: the cognition of topic based teaching,the selection and design of topics,the development of topic based teaching activities in the classroom,and the evaluation of the classroom effect of topic based teaching,and summarizes the problems existing in the application of topic based teaching and attribution analysis.After combing,the author found that the existing problems mainly include: the concept of topic based teaching is divorced from the requirements of ideological and political discipline,the selection and design of topics are unreasonable,the characteristics of topic based teaching are not prominent in the implementation process of topic based teaching,and the formalization of topic based teaching evaluation is obvious.The corresponding reasons for the those problems are as follows: the concept of topic based teaching has not penetrated into teachers’ teaching concept,the selection and design of topic are divorced from students’ life,the solidification of topic situation and activities,and the neglect of students’ subjectivity in topic based teaching evaluation.Finally,in view of the existing problems,this paper puts forward the strategies and suggestions for the promoting application of topic based teaching in senior high school ideological and political course from four aspects: changing teachers’ educational concept and strengthening school guarantee,selecting topic resources and designing topics reasonably,optimizing the process implementation elements of topic based teaching and topic based teaching evaluation based on the core quality of ideological and political discipline.
