The economic transition and social transformation have led to the comprehensive and rapid development of China’s economy and the rapid expansion of the migrant population. The change of living environment has made it possible for migrant children to face many problems in urban life, and the traditional reliance on government power alone has failed to solve these problems. As the number and funding of social work services purchased by the government are increasing year by year, evaluation as an important part of social work services is getting more and more attention from the society and the government.Based on this, this study takes the "’Children’s Walk’ Gas Station" social work service project implemented in X community as an example to evaluate the effectiveness of the service and explore the effectiveness of social work interventions for migrant children. In this study,we analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the program’s design and evaluation, and provide suggestions for the continuation of the program.Based on the CIPP model, this paper uses interviews and participant observation to collect information about the project, and evaluates the project from four aspects:project background, input assessment, process assessment, and outcome assessment. The project was evaluated from four aspects: project background, input evaluation, process evaluation, and outcome evaluation,to identify problems in the design and implementation of the project, and to make reasonable and practical suggestions for the project’s optimal management and sustainable development.Through the analysis of the whole project, the author found the following problems in the project:inadequate human resources and capacity building;inadequate embodiment of social work professionalism;inadequate effective interaction among service stakeholders;insufficient total number of service beneficiaries;and emphasis on the quantity of work at the expense of quality. In response to these problems, the following suggestions were made: first, talent team and capacity building;second, social work professionalism enhancement;third, interactive communication mechanism strengthening;fourth,multi-channel and multi-channel project publicity;fifth, social work service quality improvement.Overall, the project has completed the amount of task indicators in the project contract and achieved certain results. The author hopes that the research in this paper will provide reference for subsequent social work organizations to undertake similar service projects,so as to better provide services for migrant children and promote the sustainable development of the service project. |
