In modern society, more and more people are prone to physical health anxiety.Physical health anxiety refers to negative emotions such as excessive worry about their physical health, which can reduce people’s quality of life and bring many negative effects.Existing studies focus on the concept and causes of physical health anxiety from a medical perspective, and some studies pay attention to the relationship between health information and health anxiety from the perspective of information. However, relatively speaking, the above studies have ignored the attention to the mechanism of physical health anxiety, and lack other research perspectives. There are also studies that show that rural elderly groups are more likely to have anxiety due to physical health conditions, but the existing research on rural elderly groups focuses more on the mental loneliness of the left-behind elderly, and relatively ignores their anxiety caused by physical health conditions. As a special group of rural elderly people, the physical health needs of the elderly in rural residential homes need more attention and attention. This study focuses on the elderly in rural residential homes.Firstly, based on the one-way mechanism of physical health anxiety and behavior proposed by existing studies, this study established a two-way physical health anxiety influence mechanism of "emotion-behavior(somatic)-emotion",and analyzed the needs of the elderly in H welfare homes according to this mechanism: anxiety needs to be relieved, behavioral and physical discomfort symptoms need to be intervened, and emotional self-regulation ability needs to be improved. Then, under the guidance of cognitive behavior theory, combined with specific needs analysis, group work intervention was carried out on the physical health, anxiety and emotions of the elderly in H welfare home from the four paths of cognitive reconstruction, emotion regulation, behavior change and emotional relief. Finally, through the evaluation of the process and result service effect of multi-session group activity intervention,it is shown that the group work service intervention has a positive effect on alleviating the physical health anxiety of the elderly in H welfare home. Therefore, this study draws the following conclusions: first, the physical health anxiety of the elderly in rural residential care homes is worthy of attention;Second, group work helps alleviate the health anxiety of the elderly in rural residential homes;Third, cognitive behavioral theory has practical utility with the "emotion-behavior-emotion" mechanism. However, since the factors affecting the physical health of the elderly in rural residential homes are more complex, the influence mechanism of physical health anxiety can also be paid attention to from other factors, and in order to better alleviate the health anxiety of the research subjects,it is also necessary to further integrate a variety of practical methods of social work and continue to improve the health care policies of rural residential care institutions. This study has certain shortcomings and limitations in content design and theoretical research, which still needs to be further researched and explored.
