There is an inextricable link between man and nature,and Dewey’s naturalistic theory of experience explains that the acquisition of experience is the result of a continuous interaction between man and nature,and that the natural environment has an important influence on the quality of experience.Therefore,in education,sand and water as an attractive natural element,they bring infinite vitality to children,and the sand and water area becomes part of the kindergarten outdoor activity territory,a miniature natural environmental field,a location where many children are willing to carry out independent play activities.However,the author found that there are some practical problems with the current situation of creating an outdoor sand and water environment in kindergartens,resulting in a sand and water park that should be in close contact with nature,but the children are "out of fun",and the large outdoor sand and water area is virtually useless.In order to allow children to develop comprehensively in the sand and water area,we should take effective measures to optimise the environment,make full use of the natural attributes of the sand and water area,improve the quality of the outdoor sand and water area environment and enhance children’s experience in the sand and water area,in order to truly respect the status of children in kindergartens.This paper takes the current situation of the creation of the outdoor sand and water area environment in kindergartens as the research object,focusing on the use of questionnaires and mosaic research methods to investigate the situation of the creation of the outdoor sand and water area environment in kindergartens in Z city.Based on the results of the survey,the problems in the current situation of kindergarten outdoor sand and water area environment creation were analysed and summarised,namely,the objective difference between the current situation and the standard of kindergarten outdoor sand and water area physical environment creation,the lack of attention to kindergarten outdoor sand and water area psychological environment and the lack of pro-nature concept in kindergarten outdoor sand and water area environment creation.Afterwards,the problems in the current situation are analysed from the perspectives of the kindergarten’s logistics management,the kindergarten’s front-line teachers and the kindergarten’s director: the logistics management lacks high requirements for the implementation of standards in the creation of the physical environment,the teachers neglect the value of the creation of the psychological environment,and the director has insufficient control over the direction of environmental quality improvement.Finally,the author proposes specific strategies to improve the quality of the outdoor sand and water environment in kindergartens in Z,in view of the problems that exist in the current situation and the reasons for their creation.Firstly,to improve the structural quality of the outdoor sand and water environment in kindergartens by optimising the spatial facilities,maintenance systems and training of management staff;secondly,to improve the structural quality of the outdoor sand and water environment in kindergartens by providing teachers with guidance on sand and water area activities based on observation and understanding of children and interpersonal relationships with children,dynamically placing materials according to children’s feedback,maintaining the low structure and high plasticity of sand and water area materials,serving the curriculum and increasing the effectiveness and interactivity of sand and water area environment creation.Thirdly,the concept of pro-nature is used as a guide to integrate the sand and water area with natural elements,to evaluate the development of children in the outdoor sand and water area environment,to explore the closed-loop path of "environment creation-children’s development-improvement of environment-promotion of new development",and to use sand and water to The project aims to improve the quality of the outdoor sand and water area outcomes in kindergartens.
