| Kindergarten outdoor mud and water area activities are children and nature interaction, and artistic creation and scientific exploration of an important place.Due to the change of children’s living environment, parents and teachers lack the correct understanding of playing with mud, children’s playing mud activities show the tendency to alienate from nature, and ignore the use of natural mud, resulting in young children lack of access to natural mud,can not accumulate game experience in the complete course of the game, teachers for children’s mud and water area activities interpretation is also confused.Based on this, the study identified four purposes: first,to help teachers clarify the curriculum value of outdoor mud water area, improve teachers’ observation, analysis and interpretation of the game activities in mud water area, second,to grasp the reality of outdoor mud water area environment in kindergarten through the current situation research, third, through environmental optimization research,to present the outdoor mud water area environment of kindergarten in line with the expectations of young children,to meet the needs of children’s games,to support the learning and development of young children, and fourth,This paper puts forward the operability suggestion of the environmental optimization of the outdoor mud and water area of kindergarten from the children’s perspective.According to the purpose of the study, three research questions were identified: First, what is the value of the curriculum in the outdoor mud and water area of kindergarten? Second, what are the problems in the game environment in the educational practice of outdoor mud and water area of kindergarten? Third, how to optimize the environment of the outdoor mud and water area of kindergarten based on the children’s perspective? The research uses the paradigm of action research to optimize the environment of outdoor mud and water area in kindergarten. The research mainly uses observation, interview and mosaic methods to collect data.To investigate the environmental status of outdoor mud and water area of kindergarten, the main use of observation and interview methods. When collecting children’s views on mud water area, the main use of mosaic methods in independent photography, independent painting, voting, book production and slides and other 5 participatory tools and children exchange discussion, specifically for the mud water area environmental status quo,the use of purposeful sampling method, select small classes, middle classes and large classes of three age stages of 10 young children as research participants, through a variety of participatory tools to invite young children to express their likes, dislikes and expectations of the mud water area environment. The aim is to fully involve young children in the research process, listen to their voices and analyze and refine their views and expectations on muddy areas in preparation for environmental optimization. The data of the interview are processed by reading the original material, logging in and looking for the "local concept" and the systematicization of the data, and the whole data is encoded by three different encoders, compared with the three coding results, the encoding data with deviation is discussed, and the agreed coding data is used to form the final coding result. It was found that there were three problems: first, neglecting the main position of young children in the process of environmental creation;second, the functional zoning and material delivery of mud water area failed to meet the activity needs of children’s mud plastic and scientific exploration;and third, the interaction and rules of teacher-child interaction and rules in mud water area restricted the autonomy of children’s game activities.Based on the reality of the environment in muddy water area,we take action to study the environmental optimization for the problems of the environment in order to improve the environmental quality. In the first round of action, focusing on improving functional partition layout and shaping materials is insufficient to meet the needs of young children’s shaping activities to support performance and creativity.First, after discussion, the Action Research Group plans to involve young children in the spatial planning and purchase materials of various functional zones in mud water area, and secondly,to optimize the environment for the operation of "listening to the needs of young children by adding operators, display cabinets and enriching materials",and to carry out the inspection of children’s and teachers’ activities; On the other hand, some of the material release caused the child’s competition behavior, the material collection failed to separate wet and dry.In the second round of action, optimize the functional partition layout and open material delivery to deepen the child shaping activity experience support problem solving.First, the action research group discussed the plan teachers and young children to optimize the setting of functional partitions and improve the materials, and secondly,to carry out "according to the activities of young children to adjust the operator’s table placement, optimize the display rules and improve the material" action optimization environment, still carry out the study of children and teachers activities, and finally, reflect on the problem: teachers’ ability to explore activities for young children needs to be improved.Through two rounds of action, the study found that: First, environmental optimization enhances the integrity of mud plastic activities in young children and promotes the study of "integration of science and art";The concept of teacher’s environment optimization and curriculum generation ability are improved.Second, the spatial setting, material delivery, activity rules and atmosphere of mud water area is the key to the optimization of mud water area environment.Based on the whole research process and conclusions, three suggestions are put forward:First, the environmental optimization of mud water area should be multi-channel,the whole process of understanding the views of young children;Second, plan the space and materials of mud water area according to the process and demand of mud sculpture and scientific exploration, and third, teachers improve their ability to support mud sculpture activities and scientific exploration of young children. |
