The relevance of the closely connected group of family carers and related issues are rising to the fore as the population of the elderly and the elderly with disabilities both see dramatic increases. The elderly role of the family is one that has long been emphasized in Chinese culture. The elderly, especially the crippled ones who are more prone to family care, have long had the idea of going back to their origins and anticipating a quiet old life at home.In the future, family caregivers will still play a crucial role in providing vital care for the elderly who are incapacitated, and this care will be available to them around-the-clock,every day of the year. The demands placed on family caregivers during this process are frequently disregarded;in other words,it is widely believed that family caregivers are expected to contribute as much as they merit. However, family caregivers do have legitimate and broad physical and psychological requirements. The quality of life of family caregivers is less frequently and less extensively addressed, especially in rural societies where social resources are low and they are marginalized. This is true both in real life and in academic settings. In an effort to create a caring bridge between the elderly with disabilities and their families and society, social work interventions can assess the situation and concentrate on the family caregivers of the disabled elderly. They can aid in relieving stress, releasing emotions, regaining hope in life, and boosting self-confidence.This study will begin with its own upbringing in Village C,City Z,in order to comprehend and enhance the quality of life of family caregivers of the elderly with disabilities. The study will gather information from 15 family caregivers of the elderly with disabilities in the area using questionnaires,semi-structured interviews, and participant observation methods in order to understand their basic situation and analyze their quality of life dilemmas, influencing factors, and needs. The case study participants were chosen from from the caregivers with the lowest quality of life ratings.Using case work methods and techniques, they established a professional relationship with them, assessed their specific problems and needs, developed and implemented plans with them, provided them with opportunities to reasonably ventilate their emotions, assisted them in building rational beliefs, learnt health maintenance knowledge and skills, provided family support and enhanced social participation during the intervention process. The program’s ultimate purpose is to empower the client to actively participate in a favorable state of physical and mental health and to gradually improve their quality of life. The evaluation conducted at the conclusion of the service revealed that the client’s quality of life score had increased from the previous one and had been somewhat impacted by the social work casework intervention. In contrast to earlier research, family carers of the elderly and disabled in Village C of Z were typically able to manage the burden of medical bills.Social work intervention studies may concentrate on quality of life issues related to mental health;in actual practice,a multi-level intervention strategy with clients is more thorough and efficient.Regarding future prospects, some areas that we can continue to investigate and think about include focusing on the mental health of family caregivers of the disabled elderly, realizing the empowerment of the disabled elderly caregivers according to the characteristics of the elderly, exploring respite models for the care of the disabled elderly, and the continuous injection of social work forces. |
