| Children’s education is an unavoidable and necessary question concerning the beginning stage of education and the foundation of education.However,the current development of children’s education faces many difficulties: knowledge-based teaching replaces childhood games,activities and experiences,education ignores the way of childhood "nurturing",children’s human value is covered by instrumental value and children’s subjective value is ignored.The above predicament not only destroys the internal law of children’s growth,but also interferes with the external environment of childhood life,making the growth of childhood life constrained by the shackles,and children’s education gradually falls into the ecological barren state.Therefore,this study is rooted in the current reality of children’s education dilemma,starting from Mason’s cognition of the nature of children,to carry on a deep understanding and reflection of the reality problems.Mason’s "Children are born persons",on the one hand,based on the assumption of human nature,endows children with inner potential and encourages the openness of mind to nature.On the other hand,assigning subjective self-value,enriching children’s inner self,and returning childhood to free and quiet have certain reference value for breaking the current predicament.Mason explored children’s education through "Children are born persons",formed a systematic view of children’s education,revealed the essential connotation of children’s " Why children are human",the purpose orientation of "What they will be " and the method and path of " How children become human ",and provided a new understanding and insight for how people view children and treat children’s education.It also provides new ideas and directions for solving the realistic dilemma of children’s education.Mason’s concept of children’s education was born from the collision of British classical humanism and modern science,which is not only the product of British liberal education thought being constantly renewed and inherited,but also the result of humanistic education thought advancing with The Times and constantly changing.Deeply rooted in Mason’s early childhood education experience,and the former excellent theoretical achievements as an important basis.In short,"Children are born persons" is a new perspective to interpret Mason’s view of children’s education,which interprets its connotation from three aspects: " Why children are human ","What they will be" and " How children become human".First of all,in the essence of children "Why children are human " interpretation,children are born with the possibility of development,including development potential,divine personality and complete mind;Born with the necessity of education: including being born with the possibility of good and evil,unique generation and inner strength.Moreover,the essential attribute of " Children are born persons " is the basis and premise of effective development of education,and education is the way to realize children from " Children are born persons " to "become" people by education.Secondly,in the future,children should aim to be what they are.At the individual level,children should become their own educators and live individuals.At the social level,children need to become qualified citizens of society.Finally,in the path selection of children’s "How children become human",a wide range of courses pay attention to the self-education of children’s autonomy and take care of the independent development of children’s cognition,will and behavior.The sensory education that nurtures the mind with extensive knowledge,absorbs knowledge through the body senses,returns to the free state of "wilderness",nurtures life through knowledge,and leads to the happy experience of childhood;Free education for all children with mental training,following the inner strength of children’s mental development,pointing to the repeated training of children’s rationality,and shaping children’s good virtue with the help of habits.In fact,Mason’s view of children’s education is based on the nature of children,starting from what children "are" and proposing "how to do" in children’s education.She lights up the light of "human nature",reveals the essence of children’s "human nature",follows the way of "nourishing nature",and walks towards the clarity of children’s self-development.However,the effective opportunity for educators to intervene in the process of children’s education is not clearly pointed out,and the complex and intimate relationship between educators and children is not clearly defined.Although the advantages and disadvantages of Mason’s concept of children’s education coexist,the essence of it is valuable to our children’s education in returning to the childhood experience education,creating rich environment and firm educational authority. |
