After the introduction of the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition),with the increasing attention to the core literacy,the primary school Chinese education field has set off a large unit teaching and research fever.However,a series of problems,such as what is large unit teaching,how to implement large unit teaching,and how to implement the core literacy in large unit teaching,plague the front-line teachers of primary school Chinese teaching.Understanding by Design(UbD Theory)is a reverse teaching design theory proposed by Grant Wykins and Jay Mc Tiger,the famous American experts in curriculum and teaching reform.This theory emphasizes that big concepts lead the teaching,takes the design of teaching objectives and evidence first,and takes understanding as the pursuit of teaching.Large unit teaching is also a kind of teaching guided by large concepts and basic problems,and a kind of teaching aimed at core literacy.Therefore,UbD theory has a natural fit with the large unit teaching concept,which provides a direction for optimizing the design of large unit teaching design.This study is divided into five parts.First,the literature research method was used to sort out the relevant research materials of primary school Chinese large unit teaching design based on UbD theory,and the core concepts of UbD theory and large unit teaching design were defined.Then,the teaching mode of UbD theory is summarized,mainly introducing its design concept,goals and design ideas.Secondly,the interview research method was used to investigate the current situation of the teaching of primary school Chinese,summarized the main problems,carried out cause analysis,and analyzed the necessity of using UbD theory to optimize the teaching of primary school Chinese.Thirdly,the paper analyzes the objectives,principles and methods of the teaching design of the primary school Chinese unit based on UbD theory,and tries to take the teaching design of the unit of the fourth grade edition of the Chinese textbook as an example.Finally,we summarize and reflect on the research results,and put forward relevant suggestions on the optimization and reform of the current primary school Chinese large unit teaching design.Combined with expert consultation and analysis of data results,the following conclusions are drawn: UbD theory is applied to the teaching design of large units of primary school Chinese,which has the advantages of scientifically refining large concepts and basic problems,using reverse thinking to achieve teaching evaluation priority,anchoring teaching objectives and providing powerful evaluation methods.The teaching design of primary school Chinese large unit based on UbD theory should adhere to the four principles of integration,process,difference and challenge,as well as clarifying the teaching objectives under the control of big concepts,improving the evaluation evidence matching with the objectives,and planning the appropriate teaching activities and experience activities.At present,there are still teaching design cases with problems,such as the insufficient language expression of teaching objectives,the design of some problems higher than students’ cognitive level,and the optimization of expressive tasks to better meet individual needs,which need to be further improved.The main suggestions for the teaching design of large units are: strengthening the construction of Chinese teaching and research group;improving the interpretation ability of Chinese Curriculum Standard 2022,adhering to the teaching of large concepts and basic problems,establishing the teaching evaluation means of anchor objectives,creating the situational task to echo the humanistic theme of the unit and reasonably arrange the teaching hours and activities of large units;For the subsequent researchers,regular self-assessment and peer review are carried out on the instructional design. |
