The theme unit of revolutionary culture is an important part of the textbook,which not only helps students establish correct core values,enhance cultural self-confidence,but also enhances the value of students’ language training.However,under the goal of developing core literacy of the subject,there is a dilemma in the current unit teaching of revolutionary culture theme,and teachers neglect the integration of unit teaching and do not take into account the unity of the instrumental and humanistic nature of the language curriculum.In order to solve such problems,emphasizing integrated and contextualized large-unit teaching has become the pursuit of curriculum value,with the help of the concept of large-unit teaching,implement the goal of core literacy,realize the integrated and intensive teaching process,implement real and diverse evaluation,and explore the teaching design of revolutionary culture theme units from the perspective of large units,so that the teaching of revolutionary culture units can be revitalized.Based on the case analysis method and teacher interview method,35 teaching cases of revolutionary culture units were analyzed,and 7 teachers in three sections were interviewed to understand the current teaching status of revolutionary culture units in primary schools and teachers’ views on the implementation of large-unit teaching from three aspects: cognition of primary school revolutionary culture theme units,teaching design,and large-unit teaching.Using the text analysis method,the revolutionary culture theme units in the unified textbook were sorted out,and the distribution and quantity of selected texts,the characteristics of the selected texts,and the selected content(explicit form and implicit form)were summarized;Combined with literature research,grasp the teaching principles and elements of large units,discuss the teaching design process of large units of revolutionary culture,and finally propose feasible teaching designs from the aspects of teaching objectives,teaching process,and teaching evaluation.Through research and exploration,the existing problems in the teaching design of the primary school language revolution culture theme unit: the design of teaching objectives lacks systematization,the design of teaching process lacks hierarchy,the design of teaching content lacks integration,the design of teaching methods lacks diversity,and the design of teaching evaluation lacks authenticity;In view of the above problems,the three principles of large-unit teaching integration,real contextualization and subjectivity are extracted,and the three elements of big concept,big task and big progress are grasped,and the flow chart of large unit teaching design is drawn.Select the teaching content of the second unit of Primary Chinese Grade 6 to create a large-unit teaching design with the situation of "pursuing the imprint of revolution and being a glorious inheritor" : through preliminary analysis,clarify the cognition of the teaching of this unit;Extract big concepts and establish teaching objectives;Set up big tasks and improve the teaching process,mainly including three major tasks: "listening to the revolutionary beliefs of poets","reading the glory years of revolutionaries",and "showing my inner feelings";Determine major advances and implement teaching evaluation.Form a complete instructional design to achieve the improvement of students’ core literacy.
