Cultivating innovative and comprehensive talents is the main goal of education and teaching in the new era.Interdisciplinary teaching as a multidisciplinary integration teaching method is gaining more and more attention from the education sector.Interdisciplinary teaching can promote students’ holistic mastery of multidisciplinary knowledge,which is conducive to their all-round development and in line with the trend of the times.History is a comprehensive subject that is all-encompassing.With the earliest history education in schools at the junior high school level,junior high school history can develop students’ integrated thinking and enhance their core literacy.In April 2022,China put forward interdisciplinary thematic learning for the first time in the History Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education,requiring teachers to teach across disciplines and strengthen students’ ability to use multidisciplinary knowledge and skills for integrated inquiry.And since junior high school history textbooks involve a wealth of knowledge from other disciplines such as language,geography,morality and law,and art,it is possible to use multidisciplinary knowledge in the junior high school history classroom.Interdisciplinary teaching has the important value of enriching teaching forms and innovating teaching methods in the teaching process.However,as a new strategy for education and teaching,interdisciplinary teaching has certain dilemmas for teachers to apply.In the process of practice teachers have problems that need to be solved urgently.Teachers need to change their educational philosophy,improve interdisciplinary teaching methods and strengthen their interdisciplinary knowledge reserves.Interdisciplinary teaching is mainly carried out under the broad themes of cross-curricular,cross-unit and cross-book.When teaching interdisciplinary themes,it is necessary to select the themes,determine the learning objectives,design the learning contents and choose the activities in a scientific way.Interdisciplinary teaching can also be conducted within Single course.Interdisciplinary teaching within Single course requires a thorough understanding of students’ learning,full exploration of curriculum standards,and flexible classroom adjustments.Based on the analysis of the principles and strategies of interdisciplinary teaching,the theme activity lesson "Exploring the historical genes of red culture" is used as an example to implement interdisciplinary teaching from activity preparation to implementation to extension and reflection,which will provide teachers with reference for interdisciplinary teaching and enhance the effectiveness of interdisciplinary teaching in junior high school history.
