| Education for cultural confidence is an education that cultivates students’ identification with the excellent Chinese traditional culture,revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture and their confidence in their development prospects.In the context of cultural globalization,western foreign cultures are coming to China in an expanding form,which has a certain impact on the values of young people.Children’s outlook on life,values and worldview are not yet fully formed at the elementary school level,and they are more easily influenced by foreign culture and its values.Therefore,education on cultural confidence during this period is conducive to establishing for students the correct attitude toward their own culture and thus a strong confidence in the vitality of culture and its development prospects.At the same time,the increasingly fierce competition among countries,in which culture plays an increasingly prominent role,makes building confidence in one’s own culture a matter of realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)states that one of the goals of the Chinese curriculum is to cultivate students with the core literacy of cultural confidence,and mentions cultural confidence as the first of the core literacy.The Chinese subject,with its unique humanistic nature,determines its natural connection with cultural confidence education and has an irreplaceable role in carrying out cultural confidence education.The primary Chinese textbooks of the Ministry of Education have many beautiful texts,which contain rich contents of cultural confidence education and are the main curriculum resources for cultivating students’ cultural confidence.Based on this,this article conducts a systematic study on the content of cultural confidence education in elementary school Chinese textbooks.This article consists of five parts:The first part explores the value implication of cultural confidence education in elementary school Chinese textbooks at the national,language curriculum,and student levels.The second part constructs the content analysis framework of the Ministry’s Chinese textbooks for primary schools.First of all,the thesis makes clear the research object,that is,the selected text in the primary school Chinese textbook.Secondly,based on the relevant research results and existing policy documents,a content analysis framework for cultural self-confidence education is constructed.The third part specifically analyzes the presentation of cultural self-confidence education contents in elementary school language textbooks.First,the analysis framework was used to count and describe the textbook selections that contain the content of cultural confidence education.Second,specific textual interpretations of the selected texts are made according to the specific categories.The fourth part sums up the characteristics and ways of cultural self-confidence education content in primary school Chinese textbooks.Based on the above statistical analysis and text interpretation,the characteristics of cultural self-confidence education are summarized as follows: the content of cultural self-confidence education is rich in quantity and diverse in genre;The content of cultural self-confidence education is both contemporary and classic;The arrangement of cultural self-confidence education content adopts the mode of centralized presentation and interspersed arrangement;The content of cultural self-confidence education highlights the spiritual character needed by modern society;The presentation of cultural self-confidence education content follows the rules of children’s cognitive development.The contents of cultural self-confidence education are presented in the following ways: story plot,example demonstration,argumentation and scene painting.The fifth part is the primary school Chinese textbooks cultural self-confidence education implementation suggestions.Through the systematic analysis of the content of cultural confidence education in primary school Chinese textbooks,it is concluded that the suggestions of implementing cultural confidence education in primary school Chinese textbooks are: pay attention to the value of cultural confidence education;Accurately interpret the connotation of cultural confidence in curriculum text;Choose the appropriate methods to achieve the culture of people;Construct students’ cultural practice field. |
