The text-selection standards of Chinese textbook are realistic responses to the textbook's value-orientation. Different text-selection standards directly cause differences in the texts selected, and different selected texts show different life worlds. In teaching and learning these texts, teachers and students will have different feelings, attitudes and values. Choosing two editions of the primary school Chinese textbook as samples, which are published respectively by Beijing Normal University Publishing House and New Asia Publishing House of Hong Kong, this study is going to analyze the similarities and differences of their text-selection standards and the way in presentation, trying to find a more reasonable text-selection standards of primary school Chinese textbook.When study, we firstly classify and card the literatures which wrote by Chinese and foreign scholars and the relevant policies, then use the frequency statistics to select the important targets. According to those targets, establish a frame of analysis, use content analysis and frequency statistics to analysis two editions' textbooks. Finally, draw the relevant conclusions and combined with the practice put forward some constructive proposals.Thesis is mainly composed of introduction and other three parts.Introduction. Explain the reasons for the comparative study on primary school Chinese textbooks, state this study's significance and value to compilation of Chinese textbook, and briefly give the selection of research objects and the basic research design.Part one, the analytical framework of comparative study on text-selection standards. Through combing of predecessors' studies, combined with the documents of compilation, sets up a frame of analysis: eight projects in four dimensions. The specific targets are: politics -orientation and literature-orientation, life-orientation and classic -orientation, adult-orientation and child-orientation, history-orientation and modern-orientation. Part two, the textbook comparison about the text-selection standards. Use the analytical framework for comparison with two sets of primary schools Chinese textbook. The analysis compares with such areas, the quantity of selected text, the author of selected text, subject of modules, text characters, presentation.Part three, the conclusions and proposals. Educes the conclusions based on the comparison, analysises the text-selection standards and similarities and differences of presentation between two sets of textbooks, draws reasonably to improve the presentation of Chinese textbooks in mainland.The study concludes that: 1 .Both versions focus on literature-orientation and the version of Beijing Normal University has more obvious politics-orientation; 2.The version of Beijing Normal University emphasizes the classic-orientation and the version of New Asia emphasizes life-orientation ; 3.The version of Beijing Normal University tends to adult-orientation and the version of New Asian tends to child-orientation; 4.The version of Beijing Normal University is partial to history-orientation and the version of New Asian is partial to modern -orientation; 5.The version of New Asian version pays more attention to the interesting of selected texts. 5 suggestions: 1.Ensure the independent character of the Chinese subjects; 2. Present educational ideology of the Chinese textbooks reasonably; 3.Selected text should return to the lives of children; 4. Selected text should pursue the balance between modernity and classic; 5.The interesting is the basic standard of the text-selection standards.
