In today’s society,the government promotes the quality and balanced development of compulsory education and the integrated development of urban and rural compulsory education to narrow the gap between urban and rural education resources and bring the education level and education resources in rural areas closer to the cities.Boarding schools are an effective way to reasonably plan the layout and construction of compulsory education schools in urban and rural areas.Remote rural and flag county areas rely on school management methods like boarding to complete the academic problems of junior high school students,and the proportion of boarding junior high school students in school education is increasing.Since boarding junior high school students have less opportunity to meet with their parents and cannot maintain regular communication,they are prone to experience loneliness and helplessness,plus junior high school students At this age,when they are in the critical period of adolescent development,many problems will occur in the process of physical and mental adaptation,and these phenomena can easily lead to the problem of boredom,which is a problem of concern for boarding junior high school students.In this study,the interview,observation and scale methods were used to investigate the boarding junior high school students in X middle school,analyze the current situation of boredom problems among boarding junior high school students,and select boarding junior high school students with boredom problems as the service recipients.During the intervention process,the boredom problem of boarding junior high school students was first assessed through the junior high school boredom scale,and group work was used to intervene in the boredom problem of boarding junior high school students after the formal establishment of the service relationship.The results of the survey on boarding junior high school students in X middle school showed that the main reasons for the boredom of boarding junior high school students included low self-confidence,low interest in learning and insufficient social support.In response to the above problems,social workers started social work from the boarding junior high school students themselves and their environment,and intervened in the form of group work service to find appropriate methods to increase the selfconfidence,interest in learning and social support network of boarding junior high school students.In the specific practice,using the dominant perspective theory and social support theory as guidance,we helped the clients to enhance their self-confidence,increase their interest in learning,and build a social support network,which proved to improve the problem of boredom of boarding junior high school students to a certain extent.This study presents the effectiveness and limitations of group work in solving the boredom problem of boarding junior high school students through the group work intervention,and the study enriches the existing research on social work intervention in the boredom problem of boarding junior high school students while accomplishing the group goals.
