A Practical Study On The Intervention Of Group Work In The Family Education Of Juveniles Involved In Crime

The issue of family education for juvenile offenders is an important field of social work practice.This paper is dedicated to exploring the issue of family education support for minors involved in crime,taking the "Love with Wise" group of the K City Prosecutor’s Office as an example,in order to find ways of social work intervention in the family education of juvenile offenders in China.This paper analyzes and discusses the problems and needs of family education for juveniles involved in crime through unstructured interviews and social survey reports,and searches for the causes of delinquency and the needs of family education for delinquent juveniles through needs assessment.The group activities are designed to meet the needs of family education.The group activities are divided into four stages: the early stage,the middle stage,the middle and late stage,and the late stage,with a total of six sections.And the group activities are based on family function theory,social learning theory and social role theory.In the assessment of the group activities,observation method is adopted in the process assessment and the outcome assessment uses the pre-and post-test method.The study concludes that there are many problems in the family education of juveniles involved in crimes;the family education problem in China needs to be taken seriously and improved;the intervention of judicial social work in the family education of juveniles involved in crimes is useful and feasible;social workers still have many shortcomings in their work;and judicial social work in China is still immature and there is still a long way to go.Finally,while making reflections,we put forward some suggestions,regarding judicial social workers: increase the training of professional judicial social workers;enhance the social recognition and support of judicial social workers,etc.,regarding family education: strengthen the publicity of family education;optimize the policies and laws related to family education;strengthen the development of social family education activities,etc.
