In the age of social media,online public opinion is diverse and complex,and the emotional attributes of sports occupy an important position in the social media environment,so the study of sports public opinion has entered a new research stage.This study selects the hot topics of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games on Sina and related micro-blog texts as the research objects,interprets the evolution of the hot topics of the event’s online public opinion based on the life cycle theory,discusses the characteristics and existing problems of the event’s online public opinion,and supplements the governance strategies of public opinion of large-scale sports events in the social network environment.The main research contents include the following.Firstly,the current status of domestic and international research on online opinion communication and the current status of research on public opinion of sporting events are collated to establish the theoretical foundation.Secondly,the data related to the popular topics and blog posts of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games were obtained,and LDA topic model analysis,word frequency and visualization analysis,and social network centrality analysis were conducted on them.The research found that firstly,the migration path of sports event online public opinion topics was obvious,and secondly,sports event online public opinion was influenced by network structure and emotion,and sports event public opinion was generated under the dual influence of technology and emotion.According to the life cycle theory of public opinion,"generation-outbreak-recurrence-dissipation",the characteristics of public opinion on the Beijing Winter Olympic Games are interpreted,and it is concluded that the generation period of public opinion on the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is rapid,the peak of the outbreak period is high,the recurrence period is high and the dissipation period is high.The characteristics of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games are rapid development during the generation period,high peak during the outbreak period,repeated fluctuation period,and long tail during the dissipation period.Based on the analysis of the data,the characteristics of online public opinion dissemination for sports events are immediacy,conflict,proliferation,and diversity of communication channels.We should value the communication of the central nodes of the network and build a polycentric and collaborative network that respects multiple expressions and strengthens social consensus.
