Research On The Intervention Of Growth Group On The Improvement Of Service Ability Of Elderly Community Volunteers

China is in the period of rapid development of population aging,the increase of the number of elderly people will bring some negative effects.Instead of thinking negatively,think differently.Encouraging the elderly to participate in community services can effectively relieve the pressure of the aging process.Nowadays,more and more elderly people join in voluntary service and realize their value through social participation.However,in practice,researchers found that the elderly volunteers in the community generally have insufficient volunteer service ability,resulting in poor service effect on the whole.As a resident social worker in L Community of Wuhan,the author participated in community assistance projects and organized community elderly volunteers to visit the elderly with special difficulties in the area,so as to reduce the risk of home life for the elderly.However,during the implementation of the project,it is found that the effect of volunteer service activities is not good,and the service ability of elderly volunteers needs to be improved.Therefore,the author operationalizes the volunteer service ability into the dimension of understanding ability,communication ability and teamwork ability of volunteer service.Field research and experimental methods were used to collect data.Eight team members were selected according to the ability level and personal desire of the elderly volunteers.Understand the shortcomings of team members in the understanding,communication and team cooperation of volunteer service,and have the need to improve the concept of volunteer service,enhance interpersonal communication skills and enhance team cooperation ability.Based on the theory of social learning,this paper uses the method of growing group to intervene,strengthen the group members’ cognition of volunteer service,cultivate their awareness of volunteer service,and make the group members have a new understanding of volunteer service.Learn professional communication skills so that team members can apply what they have learned in the group to volunteer services;Promote communication among group members,complete volunteer service work together,improve team cooperation ability of group members,and enhance the standardization and professionalism of community volunteer service for the elderly.After 6 group activities,the author conducted a post-test on 8 team members with the volunteer service ability self-assessment table.Statistical analysis found that the average scores of the 8 group members in the three dimensions were higher than the previous measurement scale.Elderly volunteers’ understanding of voluntary service,interpersonal communication,team cooperation ability improved a lot,basic implementation team goals,that growth group involved in elderly volunteer service has a positive role,improve the capacity to make elderly volunteers to get a sense of accomplishment and sense of worth,also increased to a certain extent,ease the elderly population in our country with all kinds of pressure.
