| In 2022,China’s population will officially experience negative growth,and its aging population will become increasingly serious.Especially in some old communities in the city,the elderly account for a high proportion,many empty nesters,high dependence on community pension.How to reasonably solve the low age of the elderly in the use of free time after retirement,as well as the elderly care service problem is particularly important.In this context,to help the elderly--to promote the community of the younger elderly to become volunteers,help the elderly and promote community construction become a new construction mode of the old community.However,the author’s investigation in J Community of Kunming City found that in practice,this "helping the old" voluntary service mode for the elderly gradually showed a series of problems,such as weak service willingness,unprofessional service methods,weak service continuity and lack of initiative.The main reasons for the above problems are: the lack of advocates for the elderly volunteer service awareness;For professional knowledge,lack of communicators;The lack of incentive of volunteer service and the limitations of the elderly’s own conditions.Therefore,from the perspective of activity theory,human capital theory and social integration theory,this study takes the younger elderly in J community of Kunming City as the research object.Relying on the project of "Small facts about people’s livelihood",it applies the professional methods and skills of group work in the field of social work to intervene and help the elderly in J community to improve their willingness and ability to participate in voluntary service.To promote their participation and enhance their level of competence.The evaluation of the social work project shows that the involvement of social workers plays a significant role in increasing the willingness and ability of older people to volunteer in older communities.On this basis,this study reflected on the shortcomings of group work intervention,and put forward three suggestions and countermeasures on how to further improve the willingness and ability of the elderly to participate in voluntary service: first,pay attention to the needs and interests of the elderly volunteers.By making elderly volunteers feel noticed while helping others,their willingness to volunteer can be further enhanced.Second,pay attention to the mental health of elderly volunteers.Mental health affects physical health and,to some extent,the quality of volunteering.Elderly volunteers may not be understood in the process of volunteer service,which will inevitably produce some negative and pessimistic emotions.At this time,it is necessary to pay attention to the psychological state of elderly volunteers and conduct counseling.Third,strengthen the publicity of volunteer services for the elderly.Good publicity can reduce people’s prejudice towards the elderly,and attract more elderly people to participate in voluntary services,thus forming a mutual help atmosphere and a good social atmosphere. |
