Aggressive behavior refers to violate others when an individual fails to meet his internal needs.Good emotion regulation ability is conducive to regulate individual cognition, guide individuals to express their needs in a reasonable way,and then promote individuals to form stable personality psychological characteristics.Improving the ability of emotion regulation helps to reduce individual aggressive behaviors. This study is divided into two parts: Study 1 investigates the development of aggressive behavior and emotion regulation ability of 3-5-year-old children;Study 2 intervenes the aggressive behavior of large class children through emotion regulation education. In Study 1,teachers and parents of 600 children in five public kindergartens in Xinxiang City distributed the child behavior scale questionnaire and the parent version questionnaire of children’s emotional regulation strategies. In Study 2,according to the total score of reactive aggression and active aggression of large classes of children in the children’s behavior scale questionnaire,30 children with high aggressive behavior scores were selected as the research objects according to the standard of one standard deviation higher than the mean value.15 children were randomly assigned to the intervention group and the control group. The intervention group took a post-test after participating in emotional regulation education activities. The intervention time was 36 educational activities in 12 weeks.Study 1 found that there was no gender difference in aggressive behavior of 3-5-year-old children, but there was significant age difference in reactive aggressive behavior. The scores of reactive aggression and active aggression of children in 3-year-old group were higher than those in 4-year-old group and 5-year-old group.Reactive aggression decreased with age. There was no significant difference in emotion regulation strategies between 3-5-year-old children.Only the use of vent strategies has significant age differences, and the age differences of other strategies are not significant. The older the child is,the fewer venting strategies will be.The use of vent and problem-solving strategies can predict children’s aggressive behavior.Study 2 found that there was no significant difference in the pre-test scores of aggressive behavior and emotional regulation between the two groups;Compared with the control group, there were significant differences in the difference between the post-test and pre-test scores of the intervention group in reactive attack(p<0.001),active attack(p<0.001),cognitive reconstruction strategy(p=0.001),venting strategy(p<0.001),passive coping strategy(p<0.001),problem solving strategy(p<0.001),self comfort strategy(p<0.001)and alternative activity strategy(p<0.001).There were significant differences in the scores of active aggression(p<0.001),reactive aggression(p<0.001),cognitive reconstruction strategy(p=0.001),vent strategy(p=0.012),passive coping strategy(p=0.001),problem-solving strategy(p=0.012),alternative activity strategy(p<0.001)and self comfort strategy(p=0.001).There was no significant difference in the scores of aggressive behavior and emotional regulation strategies between the two measurements before and after the control group. Therefore, this study believes that emotion regulation education can improve children’s emotion regulation ability and reduce children’s aggression level. In view of carrying out emotional regulation education activities to reduce children’s problem behavior, the following suggestions are put forward: educators should pay attention to children’s emotional state;Teachers organize and carry out appropriate emotional regulation education activities;Kindergartens build home communication platforms.
