Aggressive behavior is a common problem behavior in early childhood, which has adverse effects on children’s physical, psychological and social development. It is particularly important for individuals to correct aggressive behavior in the early stage, and clarify the influencing factors of children’s aggressive behavior is the basis for effective correction. Therefore, this study explores the influencing factors and mechanism of children’s aggressive behavior,in order to provide a new intervention perspective for children’s aggressive behavior correction strategies.Domestic researches on the influencing factors of children’s aggressive behavior mostly focus on the family level, and few studies pay attention to the individual factors of children.Based on this, this study will explore the direct predictive effect of self-control,an important individual factor,on aggressive behavior of young children, and the role of negative emotion and positive emotion regulation strategies in the relationship. This study mainly adopts questionnaire survey and interview method, which is divided into two sub-studies.In the first study,a questionnaire was conducted among350 parents of young children to explore the direct influence of self-control on aggressive behavior of young children and the mediating role of negative emotions. The results show that: Firstly,in terms of demography, parents’ education level and marital status both have significant influence on children’s aggressive behavior.Secondly, when controlling for demographic variables,self-control has a significant negative predictive effect on children’s aggressive behavior. Finally, through mediating analysis,it is found that negative emotions play a partial mediating role between self-control and aggressive behavior of young children. On the basis of study 1,Study 2 further explored the moderating role of positive emotion regulation strategies by conducting a questionnaire survey among 405 parents of young children. The results show that: Firstly,in terms of demography, children’s age, parents’ education level, marital status and family structure have significant influence on children’s aggressive behavior.Secondly,in the case of controlling demographic variables, the significant negative predictive effect of self-control on aggressive behavior of young children was again verified.Thirdly, the mediation analysis further verified that negative emotions played a partial mediating role in the relationship between self-control and children’s aggressive behavior. Finally, the moderating role of positive emotion regulation strategies is discussed.Positive emotion regulation strategies play a moderating role in the mediating role of self-control in influencing aggressive behavior through negative emotions: Cognitive reconstruction strategies and alternative activity strategies mediate the relationship between self-control and negative emotions.Self-comforting strategies play a moderating role between negative emotions and aggressive behaviors.By exploring the mediating role of negative emotions and the moderating role of positive emotion regulation strategies, this study explains the “why” and “when”self-control will have an impact on children’s aggressive behavior. This study interprets the research results through interviews and relevant theories, and summarizes the practices of front-line teachers in improving their self-control level and emotional regulation strategies, from the perspective of daily parenting activities and home co-parenting,this study puts forward some educational suggestions to improve children’s self-control level and emotional regulation strategies. |
