In July 2021,the Ministry of Education issued the "Double Reduction" policy,further promoting the implementation of after-school services.Under the guidance of the policy of the Ministry of Education,school after-school services have achieved phased results.The 19 th National Congress of the CPC requires promoting the integration of urban and rural compulsory education and attaching great importance to rural compulsory education.After-class service,as a livelihood project closely related to society,schools and families,can effectively promote education equity and achieve students’ all-round development.Therefore,after-school service has become an important opportunity for the characteristic development of rural primary schools.Under the background of the "Double Reduction" policy,it is necessary to investigate the present situation,development effect and problems of the after-school service in rural primary schools in order to find a suitable way.This paper takes T Primary School in Meizhou as the research object,and uses the method of literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview to explore the problems of after-school service in the background of the "Double Reduction" policy.The main problems are as follows: the school management is not in place,the service effect is not good,the structure of teachers is unreasonable,the work pressure is big,the service content is single,the enthusiasm of students is low,the incentive evaluation is absent,the parents’ participation is lack.The reasons are as follows: the concept of government management lags behind,financial support is insufficient;the goal of after-school service is utilitarian;teachers’ understanding of after-class service is confused;some parents’ positioning is not scientific.The results show that the rural primary school after-school services do not meet the needs of students and parents fully,and the implementation of the "Double Reduction" policy is not in place.Based on the survey results of T Primary School,this paper sums up the problems in the implementation of after-school service and their causes,and puts forward some improvement strategies from the perspective of all the relevant parties in after-school service: strengthening the correct understanding of after-school service;strengthening the after-school service management system and improving the service effect;optimizing curriculum resources and promoting the all-round development of students;strengthening the after-school service abilities of teachers and returning to the essence of education;stressing the main responsibility of parents and promoting the co-education of families,schools and cooperatives;and improving the supervision system and providing incentive policies.
