Child sexual abuse,as one of the most serious public health problems facing the world,is not only related to the healthy growth of individuals, the happiness of families, but also to the future of countries and nations(Ullman,2002).A global view of the incidence of child sexual abuse is sufficient to demonstrate the existence of sexual abuse as an objective risk. However, previous research on this topic has mostly focused on the objective external risk of sexual abuse, and ignored the subjective risk perception of sexual abuse events in the general environment, that is,the risk perception of sexual abuse. At the same time, most studies focus on negative discussions of the consequences of sexual abuse and lack positive perspectives. How well do secondary school students perceive the risk of sexual abuse in the current environment? Will professional psychological assistance be sought? What is the relationship between an individual’s perception of sexual abuse risk and his attitude towards seeking professional psychological help? There are few studies to explore.Based on this, from the perspective of sexual abuse prevention and protection, this study uses two methods,cross-sectional and longitudinal tracking,to explore the current situation and relationship between the risk perception of sexual abuse and professional psychological help attitude of middle school students, and to investigate the mediating role and cross-time changes of personal growth initiative among them.In order to provide theoretical and practical guidance for schools, families and society to better guide students to prevent sexual abuse incidents and maintain students’ physical and mental health in the future. This study consists of three parts: Study 1 is a survey of the current situation of sexual abuse risk perception and professional help-seeking psychological attitudes of secondary school students. The Risk Perception Scale of Adolescent Child Sexual Abuse in Adolescents compiled by Yin Caiyun(2019)and the Attitude Scale for Seeking Professional Psychological Help revised by Hao Zhihong et al.(2007)were used as research tools,A collective survey of 645 middle school students from three middle schools in Guizhou Province was conducted; The second study is the relationship between the risk perception of sexual abuse and professional psychological help attitude of middle school students: a test of the mediation model of personal growth initiative;Study 3 is a longitudinal study, each follow-up lasted about five months, and the research tool and Study 2 explore the relationship between middle school students’ sexual abuse risk perception, personal growth initiative and professional psychological help attitude longitudinally through three questionnaire follow-up surveys. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)The results of the study showed that,in general, middle school students’ perception of sexual abuse risk from acquaintances was higher than that from strangers. It is mainly manifested as low probability estimation of sexual abuse risk perception, medium estimation of impact persistence, medium estimation of controllability and high estimation of consequences severity.Secondly, the attitude of middle school students towards professional psychological help is not optimistic on the whole. They hold a more conservative and closed attitude towards interpersonal openness, and their stigma tolerance towards professional psychological help is also low.(2)The horizontal results of Study 2 show that there is a mediating effect between personal growth initiative and sexual abuse risk perception and professional psychological help attitude of middle school students.(3)The longitudinal results of Study 3 showed that the perception of sexual abuse risk of middle school students at moment 1 could significantly predict the personal growth initiative of moment 2;The perception of sexual abuse risk of middle school students in moment 1was significantly negative to the professional psychological help attitude of predicting moment 3.The personal growth initiative of moment two has a significant positive prediction of the professional psychological help attitude of moment three; The personal growth initiative of moment2 has a mediating effect between the perception of sexual abuse risk of middle school students in moment 1 and the professional psychological help-seeking attitude of moment 3.In summary, the results of cross-sectional and longitudinal studies jointly show that personal growth initiative has a mediating effect between the risk perception of sexual abuse and professional psychological help attitude of middle school students.
