College students face the academic pressure,interpersonal,internships,all sorts of problems,such as at the school and social transition stage,the psychological health problem has always been the focus of the whole country and society,and mental health of college students are faced with serious challenges,therefore,adopt measures to reduce the risk of college students’ mental health problems,and improve their mental health status,to improve the mental health level of colleges and universities in China is very good.The choose four scale for research,respectively is seek professional psychological help attitude scale,simple coping style questionnaire,belittle-discrimination perception scale,"help self stigma scale","social support rating scale",to explore college students’ psychological disease self and public stigma,the attitude of the professional help,social support and coping styles.The selected research objects are students from four universities in Chengdu City and Guanghan City.After eliminating invalid subjects,the data of 796 subjects are finally analyzed.The research results are as follows:First,through descriptive statistics,college students have low scores of mental illness self and public stigma,high scores of professional help attitude,high scores of social support,and more positive coping styles in the face of stressful situations.Second,we found demographic differences among college students in four variables.thereinto,gender,whether or not attend the course,whether or not seek for help significantly influence attitudes towards seeking professional psychological help.Mental illness self-stigma has significant differences in gender,major,family residence and whether they have attended mental health related courses.The public stigma of mental illness has significant differences in whether or not they have attended mental health related courses and gender.In terms of social support,we found significant difference on gender,whether or not experience of indirect psychological help seeking,whether or not attend mental health related courses.We also found significant differences in coping styles of college students in major,family residence,whether they have sought major or not,and gender.Third,the stigma of mental illness,professional help attitude,social support and positive coping style of college students were significantly correlated.Fourthly,social support and positive coping styles have a chain mediating effect on college students’ attitude to professional help-seeking attitude on the two dimensions of mental illness stigma.Therefore,the stigma of mental illness,as an important factor affecting individual attitude towards professional help-seeking,will affect college students’ attitude towards professional help-seeking through social support and positive coping style as two important mediating variables and the chain mediating path,and further indirectly affect the mental health status of college students.To sum up,society,schools and families should make efforts to change college students’ professional help attitude,provide a better mental health education to college students,pay attention to the stigma of mental illness,social support,coping style,but also grasp each specific influence path.
