Research On The Improvement Of Social Communication Ability Of Patients With Mental Disorders In Community Rehabilitation

Mental disorders have always been one of the major concerns of the world.With economic and social development and the impact of COVID-19,people are under increasing psychological pressure,and the number of people with mental disorders is increasing year by year.Patients with mental disorders suffer from severe social isolation and gradual loss of social interaction due to long periods of closed management in psychiatric hospitals and social stigmatization,even when they return to their familiar communities for rehabilitation after treatment.In this context,it is of great significance for social workers to help patients with mental disorders improve their social communication ability,so as to increase their sense of self-identity,improve their confidence and realize re-socialization in the process of community rehabilitation.At present,there are few researches in this field,and relevant theories and practices are still being discussed.The concept of recovery emphasizes that although individuals are limited by illness,they still believe that individuals have the ability to make contributions to others and the society.This concept is gradually adopted and applied in the field of mental health.Taking the idea of recovery as the guiding ideology,it is of both theoretical and practical significance to explore its role and significance in improving the social communication ability of patients with mental disorders.In this paper,the status quo of social communication of patients with mental disorders in H community in Shenzhen city was understood through a questionnaire survey.On this basis,6 patients with mental disorders and 9 family members were selected for depth interviews,and the difficulties of social communication and the performance of inadequate social communication ability of patients were analyzed and summarized.Guided by the concept of rehabilitation,the author provided rehabilitation services for 8 patients with mental disorders through participatory observation,and carried out 7 sections of group work to help patients improve their social communication ability,in an attempt to improve their social communication predicament.Through the group effect assessment and the analysis of pre and post measurement data,the patients’ social communication ability in the group activities has been improved,self-acceptance and self-confidence have been enhanced,and the group activities are conducive to their courage to go out of the house and better return to society.Finally,this paper summarizes the mental health social work embedded in community rehabilitation,and discusses how patients with mental disorders can better return to society.There are some shortcomings in this study,and I hope to make my own exploration in the practical aspect of improving the social communication ability of patients with mental disorders.
