In the context of the new curriculum reform,cultivating students’ subject core literacy is still the top priority of China’s basic education at present,and how to cultivate students’ core literacy has become an enduring issue.Under the influence of exam-oriented education,the drawbacks of traditional classroom teaching based on book knowledge are increasingly prominent,and it is difficult to get the real implementation of core literacy in the subject of morality and rule of law in junior high school in the teaching of fragmented knowledge points.In the design of the unit teaching under the big concept perspective,the big concept becomes the guideline for the unit teaching design because of its centrality in revealing the essential connotation of the subject,its strong generality and its transferability in serving to build the knowledge system.Instead of focusing on knowledge points,teaching is a process of building a holistic system of knowledge through unit design.In this process,students can get rid of the "knowledge container",gain richer learning experience,and cultivate students’ core literacy in the subject.The teacher’s role is no longer limited to "preaching,imparting knowledge,and resolving doubts" in the traditional sense,but to participate in the whole teaching unit together with students as a learning community.The unit teaching design under the big concept can not only provide powerful support to improve the quality and efficiency of ethics and rule of law classroom teaching,but also guide students to engage in deep learning and realize the transformation of teaching based on the cultivation of disciplinary core literacy.The main text consists of four parts,and the main research contents are as follows.Part I.Overview of theories related to the big concept and unit instructional design.It defines the big concept,unit instructional design,and unit instructional design under the big concept perspective,and explains the practical significance and feasibility of teaching design of middle school ethics and rule of law unit under the big concept perspective.In the second part,the current situation of teaching design of morality and rule of law units in junior high school under the big concept perspective is investigated,and the problems and reasons for the problems are analyzed to provide ideas and references for the research of teaching design paths.In the third part,the design paths of morality and rule of law unit teaching in junior high school are studied,including condensing the big concepts based on the unit teaching contents,grasping the big concepts guided by the unit teaching objectives,constructing the big concepts by the unit teaching activities,and strengthening the big concepts by the unit teaching evaluation.In the fourth part,following the above design path,the unit "Thinking about Life" in the first book of the seventh grade is selected to present a design case of the teaching design of morality and rule of law unit in junior high school under the perspective of big concepts.
