At present, our country has entered the rapid development stage of population aging.Under the influence of this trend, the group size of the disabled elderly is gradually enlarged, and the consequent problems and conflicts become more complex. The disabled elderly, especially the elderly who suffer from accidental disability in their later years, the physical disability will bring them a strong psychological impact, easy to fall into the dual predicament of physiology and psychology, poor regulation and even into extreme emotions. However, the elderly with disabilities belong to the vulnerable group in society and lack of resource support. Therefore,it is necessary for social work to intervene in the psychological adjustment of the elderly with disabilities. The object of this study is an elderly female surnamed C,who is disabled on her right hand due to a car accident. She has insufficient self-efficacy,wrong perception of "disabled",unstable mood, easy to fall into a mental state of self-denial and resistance to communication with outsiders.Affected by the client, the client’s family members also have psychological problems of varying degrees, and the family harmony is greatly affected. Therefore, the author needs to make psychological adjustment to the client himself and the client’s family respectively,so as to better help the client out of the dilemma. The author uses the case work method to develop a service plan for the client and adjust the psychological problems of the client and his family members. The specific intervention process is divided into three stages: the first stage is problem sorting, crisis intervention, adjust the negative mental state of the client and his family members, and change the negative cognition of the client;the second stage is to transfer the client’s attention to himself and empower the client. The third stage is to link resources for the client, build a stable social support network, and help the client to integrate into normal social life. The case evaluation shows that the application of social work skills to the psychological adjustment of the elderly with mild disabilities can quickly help them adjust their depression and anxiety and enhance their confidence in life at the initial stage of the patients’ psychological difficulties.According to the actual case analysis, the conclusion is that social work plays an important role in the psychological adjustment of mildly disabled elderly people. At the end of the study, the author summarized the research results of social work intervention in the psychological adjustment of the mildly disabled elderly, and reflected on the ethical dilemma in the practice process, hoping to provide experience for social work intervention in the psychological adjustment of the mildly disabled elderly.
