Study On Psychological Adjustment Of Rural Widows By Case Social Work

After experiencing the loss of a spouse,the elderly in rural areas are easily trapped in sadness,helplessness,depression and other psychological difficulties due to the rural environment and their own limitations,leading to psychological discomfort.How to help the rural widows to recover normal mental state is an urgent problem to be solved.Therefore,it is necessary to make psychological adjustment to the widowed elderly,adjust their cognitive,emotional and other psychological activities,and then restore their mental state.After sorting out and analyzing the existing data,this paper finds that there are few researches on psychological adjustment of the elderly widows in rural areas by using social work methods.Therefore,this study uses case social work to intervene in the psychological adjustment of the elderly widows in rural areas.Through field visits and interviews with widowed elderly people in D village of Shanxi Province,this study found that widowed elderly people have prominent psychological problems,which are mainly manifested as sadness,anxiety and other negative emotions,meaningless and worthless negative mentality,and paranoid and marginalized behaviors.Moreover,it was found that the main reasons affecting the psychological status of rural widowed elderly people are as follows:lack of effective emotional channels,lack of correct recognition of widows and family emotional comfort function weakened.By screening the elderly who meet the research criteria and need intervention,this study uses the method of case social work for intervention,and compares and evaluates before and after the case intervention,so as to explore the effectiveness of case social work in improving the psychological adjustment ability of rural widows and elders.Meanwhile,it also reflects on and discusses the intervention of case social work.It provides some reference for the psychological adjustment of the elderly widows in rural areas.
