Education is to cultivate well-rounded people and lay a foundation of knowledge and practice for students’ life-long learning and socialization.In 2014,the Ministry of Education promulgated the "Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Lide and Tree People",which pointed out that the comprehensive improvement of national quality is an inevitable requirement to adapt to the development of the world.Improving the core literacy of students in the basic education stage plays a decisive role in improving the national literacy.The "High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" also emphasized the need to fully develop students’ core literacy of subjects to meet the needs of students to adapt to future social development and personal life.Textbooks are not only an effective carrier of classroom teaching,but also an important support for cultivating core literacy.The People’s Education Press has revised high school biology textbooks in accordance with the requirements of the new curriculum standards.The new textbooks will be launched in various provinces and cities in September 2019.The new textbooks strive to implement the fundamental tasks of building morality and cultivating people,aim to cultivate the core literacy of high school students,follow the laws of students’ physical and mental development,and strive to practice the core socialist values.The question exploring column in new biology textbooks provides good materials for core literacy education.The question exploring column creates a real production and life situation around biological knowledge,guides students to think,discuss,practice,etc.,so that students can construct knowledge independently in activities,and at the same time cultivate students’ scientific thinking and scientific inquiry ability.In recent years,educational researchers,especially front-line teachers,have paid more and more attention to the application of question exploring column in teaching.This research aims to find out the problems existing in the current teaching of the new textbook question exploring column by comparing the changes of the new and old textbooks,investigate the current teaching situation of the new textbook question exploring column,propose corresponding optimization strategies for the high school biology new textbook question exploring column.The research also provides targeted and useful teaching cases.This study mainly used literature research method,comparative research method and questionnaire survey method.The main research results are as follows:1.The research compared and analyzed the changes of the new and old textbook question exploring column,and summarized the characteristics of the new textbook question exploring column.In terms of layout design,new textbook question exploring column is more refreshing and concise,more consistent with the layout style of the text,and easier to read.In terms of contextual materials,the selection of contextual materials for new textbooks pays more attention to cutting-edge and relevance,deletes some outdated materials,and adds more contextual materials for scientific frontiers.At the same time,it pays more attention to the setting of penetrating situations and real situations.In terms of illustration,new textbooks completely updated the illustrations to make the image more suitable for the contextual material,which helps to create a real situation and improves the effectiveness of the illustrations.In addition,the layout style of the illustrations has changed greatly,the main body of the picture is more prominent,the colors are fresher and more elegant,the overall is more beautiful and vivid,and the readability of the illustrations is improved.In terms of discussion,the question orientation in the discussion column of the new textbook is more clear,the questioning is more scientific and effective,and it focuses on cultivating students’ independent inquiry ability.And the difficulty of the questions in the discussion is moderate,which is in line with the law of cognitive development of high school students.In general,the question discussion column guides students to think and discuss independently in the created situation by revising text and pictures,changing the typesetting style,etc.,and fully cultivate students’ scientific thinking and scientific inquiry ability,so that students can develop in an all-round way.2.Through the investigation of the teaching status of the new teaching material question exploring column,the problems existing in the teaching of question exploring column have been found.The current problems are mainly that teachers do not have a clear understanding of the concept and content of the question discussion column;teachers need to improve their understanding of the value of the question discussion column;teachers still need to improve the way they deal with the question discussion column;Students need to pay more attention to the role of the question discussion column enhanced.3.Aiming at the problems existing in the teaching of the question exploring column of new biology textbooks,a universal teaching strategy is proposed.In actual teaching,teachers can vividly present the situational materials of the question exploring column through pictures,videos,etc.,to guide students to solve problems in real situations;the question exploring column can be handled flexibly according to students’ conditions,and used for new class introduction,transition,scientific inquiry,and classroom testing.and other links,make full use of the question exploring column and optimize the classroom structure and improve the effectiveness of the classroom.Fully excavate the subject knowledge,scientific methods and value orientation contained in the question exploring column.Based on the above optimization strategy,the sixth chapter of the paper constructs teaching cases of using the question exploring column to develop students’ core qualities,providing effective references for the teaching of new textbooks.In summary,the column of new textbooks provides a good material for the core literacy of the subject.Teachers can use the question exploring column to create situations,guide students to carry out inquiry learning in real situations,and cultivate students’ ability to solve practical problems,and fully develop students’ biological literacy in scientific thinking and scientific inquiry.
