Research On The Application Of Group Work On Stress Relief Of Caregivers Of Disabled Elderly

With the deepening of aging,the number of disabled elderly is increasing,and the problem of long-term care is becoming increasingly prominent,which has become the"pain point"of elderly care services and the "weakness"of the bottom line of people’s livelihood."Caregivers" are born in response to the aging of society,they are not only related to the quality of aged care and family life,but also to the level of social development and civilization.However,more attention is paid to the current situation of disabled elderly care,lack of attention to the problems caused by long-term care of the caregivers and their families.This study relies on the Zhangjiagang Municipal People’s livelihood micro practical service project,first of all,it combs the relevant research results on the pressure of family caregivers for the disabled elderly,conducts a household survey of family caregivers in the Y community of Zhangjiagang City,and understands the pressure faced by family caregivers and its sources of pressure through questionnaire,interview and observation.The pressure of caregivers is mainly caused by the psychological,social and physiological pressure generated by the care work.The pressure sources are mainly the degree high levels of disability and interference behavior of the elderly,the lack of social support,the impact of public opinion in the community,and the lack of psychological adjustment ability and care skills of caregivers.According to this,under the guidance of social support theory and ABC emotion theory,group intervention was carried out for 8 selected family caregivers of disabled elderly,and a total of six series of group intervention activities were carried out.The evaluation results showed that after group activity intervention,the score of ZBI for group members significantly decreased,and the degree of relief of nursing burden ranged from 8 to 12 points;Team members gain practical skills to relieve stress and regulate emotions;Harvest friendship and build a network of family caregiver and peer support.This study believes that group work is more effective in the intervention of family caregivers.This paper meets the requirements of project research writing in the "Basic Requirements for Thesis of professional degree Master of Social Work(MSW)".
