A Study On Stress Relief For Family Caregivers Of Children With Disabilities Through Casework Interventio

As a special vulnerable group,disabled children have more complex needs and pressures than normal children’s families.At the present stage,the government and society tend to focus on meeting the survival and rehabilitation needs of disabled children,so as to formulate relevant policies.In the field of social work research,scholars also pay more attention to the growth and support of disabled children,and tend to ignore the family caregivers who bear the main responsibility for disabled children.Most of these caregivers may face lifelong care and have different degrees of pressure in psychological,economic and social communication.They often need to spend a lot of time looking after disabled children,and lack of independent time and space,resulting in fewer opportunities to work outside the home,weak relationships and other problems.All these will have a negative impact on the mental health and physical condition of family caregivers,resulting in pain,anxiety and other adverse emotions,which has become a new social problem.In the face of this phenomenon,the author believes that we can use the professional knowledge and methods of social work to relieve the pressure of caregivers and improve the plight of families by carrying out practical research on the case work of family caregivers.In this paper,taking Y in the Z community as the service object,and the service is carried out under the guidance of rational emotion theory,dominant perspective theory and social support theory.Based on the data collection in the early stage of the work survey and the analysis of the situation of the service objects,the five-stage intervention plan is developed together with the service objects,so as to provide psychological counseling and care skills for the service objects,improve family relations and build a social support network.At the same time,the purpose is to explore the potential advantages of the service objects and enhance their own abilities,strengthen the determination of the service objects to actively change,optimize the quality of life of disabled children and their family caregivers,and promote their return to normal life.Through the study,it is found that the service plan based on the case work practice process has achieved the expected effect.The first object of service is a positive change in mentality,which changes the irrational belief before.The second is to improve care skills,enhance their own ability to stabilize economic sources.Third,the family relationship is harmonious while expanding the social support network,life step on the right track.Finally,because the practical results obtained from case work are not representative,it is still hoped that this practical study can provide material and reference in the professional field of social work intervention in families of disabled children.
