In China’s current compulsory education stage,compared with cities,rural areas are at a disadvantage in terms of educational resources.In order to let children get better educational resources,many rural families choose to let their children study in cities and towns,and parents accompany them to take care of their children’s lives and supervise their studies.The high educational expenditure generated by accompanying students has brought certain economic pressure to rural families,and the current inefficient educational return has intensified the contradiction between parents and children,triggered communication barriers between parents and children,and intensified the conflict between parents and children.Through the analysis of questionnaires and interviews,this study analyzes the problems of poor parent-child relationship,mainly because parents are influenced by low education level,traditional ideas and educational concepts,and the interaction between parents and children is single,and parent-child relationship has not been paid attention to;Children can’t correctly understand their parents’ care,adolescent rebellion,communicate with their parents less,and can’t express their thoughts clearly.On this basis,using the parallel group professional method of social work,according to the theory of family communication and group dynamics,parents and children are recruited as group members.By participating in activities together,parents and children can learn expression skills,improve their communication skills,promote mutual communication between parents and children,increase tacit understanding and intimacy,increase mutual understanding and trust,reduce misunderstanding and conflict between parents and children,help rural families to improve their parent-child relationship,and make parents and children get emotional satisfaction and promote family harmony.The research results show that the practice of social work parallel group has certain effect on improving the parent-child relationship of rural accompanying families.The communication ability between members is enhanced,and they can clearly express their expectations and needs,understand and trust each other.In order to reflect on the traditional education methods,they attach importance to the parent-child relationship.The group members affirmed and recognized the content and form of group activities and the performance of social workers,and the group objectives were basically completed.Finally,the author summarized and reflected on the group activities,and found that the change of parents is the fundamental to improve the parent-child relationship.Social workers should change their roles in parallel groups according to the different levels of understanding of the members and the different activity scenes,so as to provide some reference for later researchers and improve the application of parallel groups in practice.
