In recent years,de facto unaccompanied children have received attention from the government and society.Various welfare guarantees and public welfare services have gradually improved the survival situation of de facto unaccompanied children.However,issues such as "labeling" and self-awareness bias still have a negative impact on their growth.In fact,unsupported children urgently need social work professionals to intervene to understand their cognitive status and help them improve their self-perception biases.This study uses cognitive theory and social support theory as the theoretical analysis framework and practical basis.Through interviews with the head of the Children’s Welfare and Security Department in L County and the resident social workers in Q Town,the basic information of 30 children in Q Town of L County who are actually left unattended is obtained.Furthermore,questionnaire survey and interview methods were used to investigate and analyze the current situation of self-awareness of factual unaccompanied children from three dimensions: physical self-awareness,social relationship cognition,and self-evaluation cognition of oneself and others.After investigation and analysis,it was found that compared with children from normal families,children who were not raised in fact have problems with cognitive errors in physical appearance,cognitive confusion in social relationships,and inability to correctly evaluate themselves and others.With the help of Q town resident social workers,the author recruited 5 boys and 5 girls aged 8-12 each from the group of children who were actually left unattended as the service subjects of this study to carry out growth oriented group social work services and conduct practical research.The growth group is supported by cognitive behavior theory and social support theory,adopting a strategy of exploring the advantages of the service object itself and linking external resources to help the service object improve their self-awareness,designing and carrying out group ice breaking and mutual understanding;Cognitive right and wrong discrimination,identifying cognitive biases;Improve physical appearance cognition;Improve self and others’ evaluation and cognition;There are six group activities to improve the understanding of social relationships and the future,in order to promote the improvement of team members’ self-awareness.The service recipients of group activities have undergone significant changes in self-awareness,from retreating to responding and then actively participating in group activities.The evaluation adopts the methods of goal completion evaluation and satisfaction survey,and the evaluation results show that the improvement of self-awareness of unaccompanied children is significantly effective.Research has found that there is a need for improvement in self-awareness bias among children who are actually left unattended.Growth oriented group work is based on analyzing the needs of service objects,and can improve the self-awareness status of service objects by linking external resources and exploring their own advantages for self-awareness improvement.The comprehensive effectiveness of resource linking and self-awareness improvement services in the process of group service is a prerequisite for ensuring the healthy development of children who are actually left unattended.Practical research has found that the external environment is extremely important for the healthy growth of de facto unsupported children,and social workers should pay attention to the impact of the external environment on de facto unsupported children.In view of emergencies arising in the course of practical development,social workers should enhance their ability to use skills.
