With the increasing improvement and development of children’s welfare in China, the target group of protection has expanded from orphans to special groups of minors such as rural left-behind children, children in difficult circumstances, and children who are actually unaccompanied, and the coverage has continued to expand.Despite recent notices from civil affairs departments that have begun to emphasize the importance of the psychological needs of de facto unaccompanied children, the psychological needs of de facto unaccompanied children are still difficult to meet in a timely and effective manner, coupled with poor communication with surrounding classmates, teachers, guardians, agency stationmasters, and other personnel, which rarely reflect their own psychological status, resulting in the neglect of children’s psychological problems,In fact, the psychological problems of unaccompanied children urgently require attention. This article takes the M community in X County,Guizhou Province as the research site, and selects the fact that no one is raising children in the M community as the research object. The survey found that,in fact, unaccompanied children mainly have problems such as low self-esteem,low sense of self worth, multiple negative emotions, and weak willpower to deal with difficulties. In order to enhance the self-efficacy of the de facto unaccompanied children in M community, the group workers conducted group work interventions using Bandura’s social learning theory and self-efficacy theory as guidance, and based on the logical system of self-efficacy theory, using four strategies: verbal encouragement, stimulating positive emotions, increasing alternative experience, and successful experience.Based on a comprehensive evaluation of the level of self-efficacy of de facto unaccompanied children using the relevant self-efficacy measurement scale, this paper further explores how social work can be involved in the process of enhancing self-efficacy.Finally,based on the above research, summarize the research results and conclusions, and provide specific and effective suggestions for improving the self efficacy of de facto unaccompanied children. The study evaluated the effectiveness of groups through group process assessment, group outcome assessment, and social worker self-assessment.The results showed that the self-efficacy of de facto unaccompanied children in the group increased, especially in terms of self-evaluation.At the same time, the positive emotions, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving abilities of team members have also improved. To sum up,the group work method is suitable for the promotion of self-efficacy of virtually unaccompanied children, and the operability of social learning theory and self-efficacy theory is strong. However, there are still problems that cannot be solved, such as insufficient involvement depth of group work and difficulty in providing continuous services.
