The study concentrated upon integration into the urban community above the migrant children. Under the perspective of social work, We have perceived the migrant children as powerless client to help them with professional method of the group work.At the beginning, the study did plenty of literature review about the potencial adaptive problems among migrant children. Not only that, we also organized a survey among two of the primary schools, which most migrant children gathering in. by the influence of example, on those who are the subjects of them. Combined with the former experience, the result shows that when they came to the city from their hometown for just1-2 years, they should face the maladjustment of the existing social relations and unknowing environment, somehow they would express their anxiety, or even resist the external changing of environment. As we all know, the prominent position of school is how to socialize people into different environments. So in this study, we choose school as our basement, hoping that through the use of professional social work techniques to do the practical group work, by doing that can we gradually enhance the adaptability of migrant children in cities.Based on the analysis of what the client want, also according to the professional theory of Sociology, we designed the whole practice activities. Through the earlier questionnaires, interviews, literature and experience, we conduct a selecting for the group,those children at an early stage who just came to the city without 1 or 2 years, that have adaption problem in the concept of city recognition. The group has 4 social workers and the 8 migrant children consist of 6 parts. The whole scheme are justified, and step by step.Through these activities, the migrant children build their self-confidence and also strengthen their confidence as well.This paper adopted the combination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, by analyzed the pre-test and the post-test, combined with interviews, natural scene method, critical incident method, all that came into a conclusion: For those who have just came to the city 1or 2 years, they have doubt in taking an urban lifestyle, and their cognition of city directly affect their behavior into the situation. But through theinterfering among group practice activities, children's city cognitive and self-confidence has been somehow improved, including their relations with peer, their willing to stay in the city. This project indicated that the apply of social work methods to enhance the upgrading of urban adaptive capacity of migrant children is viable, more than that the study also provide a new way to communicate and interact in the group dynamics. During the process, migrant children and social workers get familiar with each other, and also achieve the mutual growth.
