The novel skillfully combines life and art,comprehensively and meticulously displays the character and destiny of the characters,and displays the intricate plot and conflicts of the story,bringing readers more profound thinking and perception.Reading novels plays an important role in the cultivation of students’ interests and abilities,the appreciation and evaluation of literary works,and the formation and enrichment of the spiritual world.However,the selected novels in the unified compilation of this junior high school Chinese textbook are far from meeting the actual needs of students for novel reading.Therefore,the necessity of novel extended reading teaching appears imminent.On the basis of investigating the situation of junior high school students,combined with the text characteristics of this junior high school Chinese novel,this paper puts forward the teaching strategy of novel extended reading.It is expected to promote the deepening of students’ extended reading behavior of novels through various methods,and also provide a new idea for the teaching of novel reading in junior high school.This paper consists of six chapters:The first chapter is an introduction,which discusses the origin of the article,literature review,research significance,research methods and research ideas,laying a foundation for the follow-up research.The second chapter is mainly an overview of the extended reading of the novel.The first section is the definition of the relevant concepts of extended reading.Based on the elaboration of the concept of extended reading by the academic community,combined with specific teaching and comprehensive analysis,the author of this paper has formed his own understanding and thinking.The second section analyzes the differences between extended reading,group reading and thematic reading,and points out the advantages and uniqueness of extended reading.The third section elaborates the theoretical basis of extended reading from four aspects: Ye Shengtao’s "example theory",Vygowski’s "recent development zone",learning transfer theory and constructivism theory,providing theoretical support for this paper.The fourth section discusses the teaching significance of novel extended reading from three aspects of novel theme exploration,appreciation effectiveness,warning and persuasion,which provides guidance for the teaching practice of extended reading.The fifth section summarizes the angle and direction of novel extended reading according to the theme,language style,original works,relevant characters and expression techniques of the novel,combining with the text characteristics and teaching practice,and provides a specific path for the teaching of novel extended reading.The third chapter analyzes the feasibility of extending reading teaching in junior high school according to the characteristics of the selected text of the junior high school Chinese novel.This paper analyzes the situation of junior high school students,the stylistic characteristics of novels,and the extension direction space in combination with specific cases to pave the way for the strategy research in the following text.The fourth chapter carries out a questionnaire on the current situation of the teaching of the extended reading of Chinese novels in junior high school,and analyzes the specific reasons from the two levels of teachers and students respectively,with a view to putting forward teaching strategies pertinently and providing thinking directions for teachers and students in the practice of the extended reading of novels.The fifth chapter is the research on the teaching strategies of the extended reading of junior high school Chinese novels in the unified edition.The author of this paper has carried out a detailed analysis of thirteen extended reading strategies in three major aspects with examples.The first section is to build a platform,create an atmosphere and find a way.In this section,teachers and students create reading conditions,create a good reading environment,stimulate students’ interest in reading,and promote students’ reading behavior by recommending bibliographies,establishing a book corner,creating a scholarly atmosphere,forming reading habits,using Internet resources,and selecting extended content.The second section is to find the right direction,stick to the text and take multiple measures at the same time.This section focuses on the characteristics of the selected text and the intention of the editor,and actively plays the leading role of the teacher.It combines examples from the aspects of novel features,questions,original works,combination of reading and writing,and learning aid system to carry out the teaching practice of novel extended reading,expand the extended scope,and open the extended perspective of teachers and students.The third section focuses on practice,continuous extension and innovative development.This section mainly gives play to the main role of junior high school students,improves the effectiveness of extended reading,expands the scope of extended reading,guides students to innovate and develop in practice,maintains reading enthusiasm,and makes novel extended reading activities serve students’ life and learning,and runs through students’ growth.Chapter 6 takes "Chameleon" as an example to design the teaching of novel extended reading.This chapter is divided into two parts.The first part is the regular course of extended reading,and the second part is the reading sharing exchange meeting.Based on the specific strategies and perspectives of the teaching of novel extended reading,the author has carried out the conception of the teaching process and reading activities,and finally elaborated the design concept to consider whether the basic characteristics and implementation path of novel extended reading conform to the actual teaching.This chapter combines theory with practice in order to provide teaching and activity reference for teachers and students.
